antibodies for the control of IBD through passive immunization. However, to the best of our knowledge ours is the first report from Pakistan where purified antibodies against IBDV were used as a therapeutic agent. In conclusion the study demonstrates that hyper- immunized yolk can be raised to purify antibodies which can then be used to control IBD infected commercial layers, commercial broilers,... with enzyme linked immunosorbant assay and agar gel precipitation test.Antibody titers were significantly higher in yolk than serum.Eggs collected at 28 days post-vaccination had maximum antibody titers. Of treatment regimens, T 3 was found to be most effective for hyperimmunization.Lyophilized antibodies stored at 4 oC did not lose their activity till the end of experiment.IBD virus infected birds were injected with purified antibodies which induced 92%recovery as compared to control birds. -
Passive bracketing for adjunctive orthodontics
Hyeon-Shik Hwang 대한치과교정학회 The Korean Journal of Orthodontics 5 Pages

W hile using edgewise brackets on the anchor units is generally regarded as optimal technique in most situations of adjunctive orthodontics,2 one problem has been that it has been difficult for the anchorage segments of the wire to be engaged "passively" in the brackets even with complicated bending. To overcome this limitation, a kind of indirect bonding, "passive . bracketing", can be... With conventional orthodontics, it was difficult for the anchorage segments of the wire to be engaged passively in the brackets even with complicated bending. To overcome this limitation, a kind of indirect bonding, “passive bracketing ”, has been developed. The present article shows laboratory and clinical procedures of the passive bracketing -

effectively, the other part must function as a fixed point so that it can perform effectively in sports activities. In order to maintain the functional stability of the body, it is said that the control of the muscles around the lumbar region plays an important role [5]. If the state of the core muscle is good, the energy of the trunk can be transmitted to the limbs. As optimal state of the... Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of wearing a pelvic compression belt on ball speed and accuracy in instep shoots of youth soccer players. Design: Randomized cross-over design. Methods: We included 20 male junior soccer players with experience of more than 5 years. Participants were randomly assigned to two conditions: application of a pelvic compression belt and instep shooting or no application. Instep shooting was performed three times at a distance of 20... -

in which stroke patients residing in a local community conducted gait train- ing using a treadmill for four weeks, their gait speed im- proved by 0.12 m/s. In a study by Barbeau and Visintin [8] on optimal body weight-supported treadmill gait training with 100 stroke patients as the subjects, the experimental group was put on a suspension unit with 40% weight support and the control group wor... Objective: In the present study, the effects of progressive body weight support treadmill forward & backward walking training (FBWT), progressive body weight support treadmill forward walking training (FWT), and progressive body weight support treadmill backward walking training (BWT), and on stroke patients’ ambulatory abilities were examined. Design: Randomized controlled trial. Methods: A total of 36 chronic stroke patients were divided into three groups with 12 subjects in each group. Each... -

venous pain, and quality of life in postmenopausal women with chronic venous insufficiency. Kang et al. [5] reported that walking with talus taping is effective for increasing ankle dorsi- flexion passive range of motion in individuals with limited motion. Merino-Marban et al. [6] reported that applying Kinesio tape on the calf seems to immediately increase ankle dorsiflexion range of motion... Objective: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of ankle Kinesio taping on range of motion and agility during exercise in university students. Design: Cross-sectional study. Methods: Thirty subjects were randomly allocated to two groups: taping group (n=15) and non-taping group (n=15). All groups underwent the same exercise program including stretching for 30 minutes. The exercise program proceeded in the following order: five minutes of stretching, a 20-minutes exercise program,...
