specific surface area and micropore volume were analyzed by N2 adsorption-desorption isotherms at 77 K. The CO2 adsorption capacity was investigated by CO2 adsorption-desorption isotherms at 298 K and 1 bar. Melamine containing N-doped CAs showed a high nitrogen content (5.54 wt.%). The prepared N-doped CAs exhibited a high CO2 capture capacity of 118.77 mg/g (at resorcinol/melamine = 1:0.3). Therefore, we confirmed that the CO2 adsorption capacity was strongly affected by the nitrogen moieties. -

Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS) is recognized as one of the most important infectious diseases causing serious economic loss in the swine industry worldwide. Due to its increasing genetic diversity, a rapid and accurate diagnosis is critical for PRRS control. The immunochromatographic strip test (ICST) is a rapid and convenient type of immunoassay. In this study, an on-site immunochromatographic assay-based diagnostic method was developed for detection of PRRS virus... -

대한생리학회-대한약리학회 The Korean Journal of Physiology & Pharmacology 2004, Vol.8 No.3 3 133-140 (8 pages)
The purpose of the present study was to elucidate the possible involvement of the medial vestibular nucleus (MVN) and inferior vestibular nucleus (IVN) following acute hypotension in the vestibulo- autonomic reflex through vestibulosolitary or vestibuloventrolateral projections. Acute hypotension- induced cFos expression was assessed in combination with retrograde cholera toxin B subunit (CTb) tract tracing. After injection of CTb into the solitary region, CTb-labeled neurons were located... -
The Current Status and Future Outlook of Quantum Dot-Based Biosensors for Plant Virus Detection
한국식물병리학회 The Plant Pathology Journal 8 Pages
한국식물병리학회 The Plant Pathology Journal 2018, 34권 2호 1 85-92 (8 pages)
Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and polymerase chain reaction (PCR), widely used for the detection of plant viruses, are not easily performed, resulting in a demand for an innovative and more efficient diagnostic method. This paper summarizes the characteristics and research trends of biosensors focusing on the physicochemical properties of both interface elements and bioconjugates. In particular, the topological and photophysical properties of quantum dots (QDs) are discussed, along... -

Evaluation of Ash Deposition Behavior and Fine Particle Formation from Combustion of Low-rank Coal Impregnated with Molasses in DTF
Zi-Xiang Xu, Joo-Chang Park, Hyung-Taek Kim 한국열환경공학회 열환경공학 9 Pages
한국열환경공학회 열환경공학 2019, 제 14권 2호 6 40-48 (9 pages)
In recent years, many countries have invested enormous efforts to tackle increasingly harsh environmental problems, especially the greenhouse effect. The addition of biomass into coal is regarded as a promising technology to mitigate CO2 emissions. However, the costs related to retrofitting injection systems and unstable combustion inhibit this option. Therefore, this thesis developed a two-in-one fuel that impregnates molasses into the holes of low-rank coal(LRC), which can be directly applied... -

Three-dimensional porous graphene materials for environmental applications
Muruganantham Rethinasabapathy, Sung-Min Kang, Sung-Chan Jang, Yun Suk Huh 한국탄소학회 Carbon Letters 13 Pages
한국탄소학회 Carbon Letters 2017, Vol.22 1 1-13 (13 pages)
Porous materials play a vital role in science and technology. The ability to control their pore structures at the atomic, molecular, and nanometer scales enable interactions with atoms, ions and molecules to occur throughout the bulk of the material, for practical applications. Three-dimensional (3D) porous carbon-based materials (e.g., graphene aerogels/hydrogels, sponges and foams) made of graphene or graphene oxide-based networks have attracted considerable attention because they offer low... -

한국탄소학회 Carbon Letters 2017, Vol.21 4 23-32 (10 pages)
A drop weight impact test was conducted in this study to analyze the mechanical and thermal properties caused by the changes in the ratio of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) to ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) laminations. The ratios of CFRP to EVA were changed from 10:0 (pure CFRP) to 9:1, 8:2, 6:4, and 5:5 by manufacturing five different types of samples, and at the same time, the mechanical/thermal properties were analyzed with thermo-graphic images. As the ratio of the CFRP lamination was... -

In the present study, exfoliated graphite nanoplatelets (xGnP) with different particle sizes were coated onto polyacrylonitrile-based carbon fibers by a direct coating method. The flexural properties, interlaminar shear strength, and the morphology of the xGnP-coated carbon fiber/phenolic matrix composites were investigated in terms of their longitudinal flexural strength and modulus, interlaminar shear strength, and by optical and scanning electron microscopic observations. The results were... -

Bashir Mohi Ud Din Bhat, Jehangir Rashid Dar, Pratima Sen 한국탄소학회 Carbon Letters 4 Pages
한국탄소학회 Carbon Letters 2016, Vol.17 No.1 4 29-32 (4 pages)
This paper addresses the effect of dopants on the electronic properties of zigzag (8, 0) semiconducting single walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs), using extended H?ckel theory combined with nonequilibrium Green’s function formalism. Through appropriate dopant concentrations, the electronic properties of SWCNTs can be modified. Within this context, we present our ongoing investigation on (8, 0) SWCNTs doped with nitrogen. Quantum confinement effects on the electronic properties of the SWCNTs have... -

Gas transport through graphene-derived membranes has gained much interest recently due to its promising potential in filtration and separation applications. In this work, we explore Kr-85 gas radionuclide sequestration from natural air in nanoporous graphene oxide membranes in which different sizes and geometries of pores were modeled on the graphene oxide sheet. This was done using atomistic simulations considering mean-squared displacement, diffusion coefficient, number of crossed species of...
