B virus (HBV)-induced HCC were investigated by using HBV X-protein-overexpressing Huh7 (Huh7-HBx) human hepatoma cells. MTT assay showed that resveratrol decreased cell viability. Fluorescence-activated cell-sorter analysis showed that resveratrol induced G1 cell cycle arrest without increasing the sub-G1 phase cell population. Therefore, we evaluated its effect on regulation of cyclin D1, which is critically involved in G1/S transition. Resveratrol lowered cyclin D1 transcription. Western blot... -

RyR blocker. KCl-induced elevations in [Ca2+]i were reduced by pretreatment with ruthenium red, as well as by depletion of internal Ca2+ stores using cyclopiazonic acid (CPA) or caffeine. Caffeine-induced Ca2+ mobilization ceased after the internal stores were depleted by carbamylcholine (CCh) or CPA. In permeabilized INS-1 cells, Ca2+ release from internal stores was activated by caffeine, Ca2+, or ryanodine. Furthermore, ruthenium red completely blocked the CICR response in permeabilized... -

ligand (RANKL) and Runx2 expressions were down-regulated in response to 1Ձ,25(OH)2D3. Knockdown of Runx2 inhibited 1Ձ,25(OH)2D3-induced RANKL expression in osteoblastic cells. Finally, the hyperosmotic stimulus induced the overexpression of TonEBP in osteoblastic cells. These results suggest that hyperosmolarity leads to the down-regulation of 1Ձ,25(OH)2D3- induced osteoclastogenesis, suppressing Runx2 and RANKL expression due to the TonEBP overexpression in osteoblastic cells. -

The present study was undertaken to examine if endogenous nitric oxide is partly responsible for the high calcium induced vasorelaxation in vitro. Isolated porcine coronary arterial rings were suspended in the tissue chamber and their changes in isometric tension were recorded. KCI little affected the vascular tension in the calcium free media, but subsequent addition of cumulative doses of CaCl3 from 1 to 40 mM caused a contraction followed by complete relaxation. The maximum tension was noted... -

growth factor beta than did the other groups, especially after week 4. Furthermore, when the numbers of CD3CD4IFN-γ and CD3CD4IL4cells in the infected mice were observed by flow cytometry, we found that a powerful T helper 1 (Th1) response was induced by M. vaccae infection, which was associated with the emergence of CD3CD4IFN-γcells. However, the Th1 response declined over time, which was associated with appearance of the CD4CD25FoxP3 and CD4CD25CD152Treg cell reaction. In addition, a strong... -
