neuronal and model membrane lipid bilayes, and had a greater fluidizing effect on the inner monolayer than the outer monolayer. LidocaineㆍHCl increased annular lipid fluidity in SPMV lipid bilayers. It also caused membrane proteins to cluster. The most important finding of this study is that there is far greater increase in annular lipid fluidity than that in lateral and rotational mobilities by lidocaineㆍHCl. LidocaineㆍHCl alters the stereo or dynamics of the proteins in the lipid bilayers... -

on mucin release. Confluent primary hamster tracheal surface epithelial (HTSE) cells were metabolically radiolabeled with 3H-glucosamine for 24 h and chased for 30 min in the presence of varying concentrations of each agent to assess the effects on 3H-mucin release. The results were as follows: TNF-alpha, CTMA and LPD increased mucin release at the highest concentration, but IL-1beta did not. We conclude that CTMA and LPD can stimulate mucin release by directly acting on airway mucin-secreting... -

detect the replication levels of Foot-and-mouth disease virus (FMDV) in the CHO-677-mανβ3 cell line. After infection with FMDV/O/ZK/93, the cell line showed a significant increase in viral RNA and protein compared with CHO-677 cells. These findings suggest that we successfully established a stable ανβ3-receptor-expressing cell line with increased susceptibility to FMDV. This cell line will be very useful for further investigation of ανβ3 integrin, and as a cell model for FMDV research. -
