Here, we describe two dogs in which canine small intestinal submucosa (SIS) was implanted as a biomaterial scaffold during perineal herniorrhaphy. Both dogs had developed severe muscle weakness, unilaterally herniated rectal protrusions, and heart problems with potential anesthetic risks. Areas affected by the perineal hernia (PH) located between the internal obturator and external anal sphincter muscles were reconstructed with naive canine SIS sheets. In 12 months, post-operative complications... -

한국식물병리학회 The Plant Pathology Journal 2018, 34권 4호 8 335-340 (6 pages)
To investigate the difference in the disinfectant efficiency of ozone microbubbles (O3MB) and ozone millibubbles (O3MMB), the morphological change of the treated Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. melonis spores was observed with scanning and transmission electron microscopies (SEM and TEM). The disinfectant efficiency of O3MB on F. oxysporum f. sp. melonis spores was greater than that of O3MMB. On observation with SEM, it was revealed that morphological change of F. oxysporum f. sp. melonis spores was... -

Liangbo Yao, Weimin Yang, Sanyang Li, Yang Sha, Jing Tan, Ying An, Haoyi Li 한국탄소학회 Carbon Letters 6 Pages
한국탄소학회 Carbon Letters 2017, Vol.24 13 97-102 (6 pages)
electron microscopy revealed that the surface of irradiated CFs was rougher than that of the unirradiated ones and there were scale-like small fragments that had peeled off from the fibers. The tensile modulus increased by 17.51% and the Weibull average tensile strength decreased by 30.53% after being irradiated by a laser. These results demonstrate that the laser irradiation was able to increase the graphitization degree of the CFs, which showed some properties comparable to graphite fibers. -

한국탄소학회 Carbon Letters 2017, Vol.23 5 30-37 (8 pages)
Dyes are widely used in various industries including textile, cosmetic, paper, plastics, rubber, and coating, and their discharge into waterways causes serious environmental and health problems. Four different carbon nanostructures, graphene oxide, oxidized multi-walled carbon nanotubes, activated carbon and multi-walled carbon nanotubes, were used as adsorbents for the removal of Nile Blue A (NBA) dye from aqueous solution. The four carbon nanostructures were characterized by scanning electron... -

Carboxylated multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs-COOH) have been used as efficient adsorbents for the removal of picric acid from aqueous solutions under stirring and ultrasound conditions. Batch experiments were conducted to study the influence of the different parameters such as pH, amount of adsorbents, contact time and concentration of picric acid on the adsorption process. The kinetic data were fitted with pseudo-first order, pseudo-secondorder, Elovich and intra-particle diffusion models.... -

한국탄소학회 Carbon Letters 2017, Vol.22 1 1-13 (13 pages)
graphene oxide-based networks have attracted considerable attention because they offer low density, high porosity, large surface area, excellent electrical conductivity and stable mechanical properties. Water pollution and associated environmental issues have become a hot topic in recent years. Rapid industrialization has led to a massive increase in the amount of wastewater that industries discharge into the environment. Water pollution is caused by oil spills, heavy metals, dyes, and organic... -

Phenomena related to global warming have been of particular interest among researchers, strongly encouraging them to identify various methods of adsorbing contributing gases, such as CH4 and CO2 [1,2]. Many adsorbents have been widely proposed and studied to remove greenhouse gases from the atmosphere and protect the environment [3,4]. Carbon-based materials for adsorption are an intriguing subject owing to their very high specific surface area, low weight, and elasticity [5,6]. Among various... -

Activated carbon was synthesized from coconut shells. The Brunauer, Emmett and Teller surface area of the synthesized activated carbon was found to be 1640 m2/g with a pore volume of 1.032 cm3/g. The average pore diameter of the activated carbon was found to be 2.52 nm. By applying the size-strain plot method to the X-ray diffraction data, the crystallite size and the crystal strain was determined to be 42.46 nm and 0.000489897, respectively, which indicate a perfect crystallite structure. The... -
