Forty mycobacterial strains comprising clinical Indian isolates of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (28 field isolates +1H37 Rv) and Mycobacterium bovis (10 field isolates +1 AN5) were subjected to restriction fragment length polymorphism analysis (RFLP) using IS6110 and IS1081 probes. ozone-treated one showed high AP-1 binding activities. Expression levels of c-fos, c-jun, junB, jun D, Nrf2, and OPN proteins increased in all treated mice. Additive interactions were frequently noted from two-toxicant combination mice compared to ozone-treated one. These results indicate treatment of mixture of toxicants increased toxicity through NF-kB, AP-1, Nrf2, and OPN. Our data could be applied to the elucidation of mechanism as well as the risk assessment of mixture-induced toxicity.

In multivariate analysis, p53 overexpression was only an independent factor for indicator of worse prognosis in canine mammary tumors (p = 0.01). These results demonstrated that p53 gene mutations and protein overexpression using the PAb240 anti-p53 antibody were useful predictors of increased malignant potential and poor prognosis in canine mammary tumors.

However, only 15 samples were identified as positive with a single one step RT-PCR. Therefore approximately 60% increase in the efficiency of the diagnosis was observed by the combined method.
