10 Pages
대한생리학회 대한생리학회지 1989, 제 23권 제 1호 13 129-138 (10 pages)

To reduce the volume of the low- and intermediate-level radioactive wastes and to improve the radionuclide confinement after disposal of the slag product, a 500kW-grade DC plasma torch melter system was developed by the KHNP-CRI(Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co., LTD Central Research Institute). Main equipment of the system consists of a dual mode plasma torch, a water cooling refractory melter, an waste feeder, a slag tapping equipment, etc. Especially, the high-technology of a dual mode... -

drain. In this three-terminal device, the conducting substance is the gate electrode. Another metallic gate is used to govern the electrostatics and the switching of the carbon nanotube channel. The substances at the carbon nanotube quantum dot/ metal contact are controlled by the back gate. Results show that both the Seebeck and Peltier coefficients have random oscillation as a function of gate voltage in the Coulomb blockade regime for all types of SWCNT quantum dots. Also, the values of both... -

of growing importance for creating sustainable energy-storage systems. In this study, nanoporous carbonaceous materials containing numerous heteroatoms were fabricated from waste coffee grounds using a top-down process via simple heating with KOH. The nanoporous carbon nanosheets exhibited notable material properties such as high specific surface area (1960.1 m2 g?1), numerous redox-active heteroatoms (16.1 at% oxygen, 2.7 at% nitrogen, and 1.6 at% sulfur), and high aspect ratios (>100). These... -
Preparation and characterization of carbon fiber-reinforced thermosetting composites: a review
Fan-Long Jin, Soo-Jin Park 한국탄소학회 Carbon Letters 11 Pages
한국탄소학회 Carbon Letters 2015, Vol.16 No.2 1 67-77 (11 pages)
Carbon fibers (CFs) have a unique combination of properties which allow them to be widely used as reinforcing materials in advanced polymer composites. The mechanical properties of CF-reinforced polymer composites are governed mainly by the quality of interfacial adhesion between the CFs and the polymer matrix. Surface treatments of CFs are generally carried out to introduce chemical functional groups on the fiber surfaces, which provide the ability to control the surface characteristics of CFs.... -
Superhydrophobic carbon-based materials: a review of synthesis, structure, and applications
Long-Yue Meng, Soo-Jin Park 한국탄소학회 Carbon Letters 16 Pages
한국탄소학회 Carbon Letters 2014, Vol.15 No.2 5 89-104 (16 pages)
Materials with appropriate surface roughness and low surface energy can form superhydrophobic surfaces, displaying water contact angles greater than 150°. Superhydrophobic carbon-based materials are particularly interesting due to their exceptional physicochemical properties. This review discusses the various techniques used to produce superhydrophobic carbon-based materials such as carbon fibers, carbon nanotubes, graphene, amorphous carbons, etc. Recent advances in emerging fields such as... -

Synthesis and electrochemical analysis of Pt-loaded, polypyrroledecorated, graphene-composite electrodes
Jiyoung Park, Seok Kim 한국탄소학회 Carbon Letters 4 Pages
한국탄소학회 Carbon Letters 2013, Vol.14 No.2 8 117-120 (4 pages)
In this study, an electro-catalyst of Pt nanoparticles supported by polypyrrole-functionalized graphene (Pt/PPy-reduced graphene oxide [RGO]) is reported. The Pt nanoparticles are deposited on the PPy-RGO composite by chemical reduction of H2PtCl6 using NaBH4. The presence of graphene (RGO) caused higher activity. This might have been due to increased electro-chemically accessible surface areas, increased electronic conductivity, and easier charge-transfer at polymer-electrolyte interfaces,...
