Regional Distribution and Relative Frequency of Gastrointestinal Endocrine Cells in Large Intestines of C57BL/6 Mice
Tae-Su Ham 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 6 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2002, 제 3권 제 3호 13 233-238 (6 pages)
the whole large intestinal tract but were most predominant in the colon. Serotonin-IR cells were detected throughout the whole large intestinal tract and showed highest frequency in the colon. Peculiarly, glucagon-IR cells were restricted to the colon with a low frequency. However, no somatostatin-, HPP-, gastrin- and CCK-8-IR cells were found in the large intestinal tract. In conclusion, some peculiar distributional patterns of large intestinal endocrine cells were identified in C57BL/6 mice. -
Functional Role of Serine Residues of Transmembrane Dopamin VII in Signal Transduction of CB2 Cannabinoid Receptor
Man-Hee Rhee 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 7 Pages

compared with the wild type receptor. Interestingly, binding affinity of S285A and S292A mutants with classical cannabinoid agonist HU-243 was somewhat decreased. In signaling assay, the inhibition of adenylyl cyclase by HU-210, CP55940 and WIN55,212-2 is the same order in both wild type receptor and S285A mutant receptor. However, S292A have been shown that the inhibition curves of adenylyl cyclase activity moved to the right by HU-210 and CP55940, but those of adenylyl cyclase activity did not... -
Immunohistochemistry of Voltage-Gated Calcium Channel α1B Subunit in Mouse Cerebellum
Seung-Hyuk Chung, Kyung-Youl Lee, Ki-Hyung Kim, Chul-Tae Kim, Nam-Seob Lee, Kazuhiko Sawada, Hiromi Haga, Byung-Chul Lee, Yoshih 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 4 Pages

N-type calcium channels. However, little is known about their cellular distribution in the mouse cerebellum. In the cerebellum, alpha1B immunoreactivity is found mainly on the cell bodies of all Purkinje cells. In addition, the immunoreactivity was detected on a subset of Purkinje cell dendrites, clustered to form a parasagittal array of bands. In the anterior lobe vermis, immunoreactive Purkinje cell dendrites form narrow stripes separated by broad bands of unstained dendrites. Moving caudally... -
Biological Rhythm in Livestock
Piccione Giuseppe and Caola Giovanni 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 13 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2002, 제 3권 제 3호 1 145-157 (13 pages)
The animal time structure is a basic fact of life, no matter if one wants to study it or not. The time-dependent, mostly rhythmic, and thus to a certain degree predictable, variations of biochemical and physiological functions and of sensitivity and resistance to many environmental agents are often quite large and offer not only new insight into animal physiology and pathology but also diagnostic possibilities and therapeutic advantages. Chronobiology, chronophysiology and its subspecialities,... -
Assessment of Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome Virus RNA Load in Sera and Tissues during Acute Infection
Jin-Ho Shin and Thomas W. Molitor 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 12 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2002, 제 3권 제 2호 4 75-86 (12 pages)
Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) RNA load in sera and tissues during acute phase of infection was evaluated using a PCR- based quantitative assay. More than 80% of infected pigs (21/25) showed the peak level of viral RNA concentrations in serum (up to 8.6 x 10(8) copies/ml) at day 5 postinfection (PI), and started to clear the virus from the systemic circulation thereafter. Regression analysis using the viral RNA concentrations in sera obtained from days 5 to 14 PI... -
Genetic characterization of porcine circovirus - 2 field isolates from PMWS pigs
Jin H. Kim, Young S. Lyoo 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 9 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2002, 제 3권 제 1호 6 31-39 (9 pages)
PMWS is a new emerging disease in swine herds worldwide. Field isolates of PCV-2, a putative major causative agent of PMWS, were isolated and genetically characterized. Viral genome of two field isolates (PC201DJ and PC201SS) from pigs showing typical PMWS was sequenced. The nucleotide sequence homology with other PCV-2 isolates was ranging from 95% to 99% in complete viral genomic sequence. The highly conserved nonanucleotide motif of replication origin was identical to that of other PCV-2... -
Tetracycline residue levels in cattle meat from Nairobi salughter house in Kenya
F. K. Muriuki, W. O. Ogara, F. M. Njeruh, E. S. Mitema 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 5 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2001, 제 2권 제 2호 5 97-101 (5 pages)
Two hundred and fifty beef samples were collected from five slaughterhouses in and around the city of Nairobi. The beef animals were sourced from various parts of the country. Samples of 50-100 grams were collected randomly from the liver, kidney and muscle of different beef carcasses. The samples collected were processed using multiresidue analytical methods that included liquid-gas partitioning and set-pat C18 cartridges chromatographic clean up. Chlortetracycline and oxytetracycline detection... -
Laminitis in Przewalski horses kept in a semireserve
Klaus-Dieter Budras, Klaus Scheibe, Bianca Patan, Wolf J. Streich, Kabsu Kim 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 7 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2001, 제 2권 제 1호 1 1-7 (7 pages)
Semireserves were created by the European Conserva-tion Project for scientific research in preparation for rein-troduction in the wilderness. They are defined as enclosures large enough to carry a group of Przewalski horses throughout the year without any additional feed-ing. The semireserve offers diverse opportunities for sig-nificant scientific research. As part of a general screening program, the hoof development in a group of Przewalski horses was investigated in the semireserve Schorfheide... -
Capsular polysaccharide typing of domestic mastitis-causing Staphylococcus aureus strains and its potential exploration of bovine mastitis vaccine developmen. I. capsular olysaccharide typing, isolation and purification of the strains

and type 8 strains. Some strains exhibited compact colonies in the SSA and expressed CP as determined by an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, indicating that compact morphology does not exclude encapsulation. The majority of the strains (11/12) showed autoagglutination in the salt aggregation test. The serotype 336 accounted for 46.7% of the isolates followed by serotype 5 (12.1%) and serotype 8 (12.1%). Particularly, twenty-six (24.3%) isolates reacted with two serotypes; 7 for type 8/336 and... -
