were recruited. Observations of play activities of the two mother-child dyads and face-to-face in-depth individual interviews with two mothers were conducted for seven months. The results suggest that Korean mother-child caring relationships may be reciprocated through the child’s active engagement in the caring relations as well as the mother’s. Implications for early childhood scholars and professionals working with diverse families are discussed, as well as future directions for research. -

Larissa Hayes, Cathrine Neilsen-Hewett, Elisabeth Duursma 환태평양유아교육연구학회 Asia-Pacific journal of research in early childhood education 25 Pages
환태평양유아교육연구학회 Asia-Pacific journal of research in early childhood education 2020, Vol.14 No.1 5 99-123 (25 pages)
One quarter of the Australian population is born overseas and one in five Australians speak a language other than English (ABS, 2016). This has led to an increase in the number of bilingual children enrolled in early childhood settings. Despite this changing landscape there is a lack of support for bilingual children enrolled in early childhood settings as many children do not receive any assistance to maintain their home language. This study examined the understanding and perceptions of two... -

환태평양유아교육연구학회 Asia-Pacific journal of research in early childhood education 2016, Vol.10 No.1 1 1-19 (19 pages)
One of the key principles in the ideology which underpins education is the value of children’s family experience. Central to this idea is the view of parents as important. Parenting has become a vital dimension in contemporary education. Parenting discourses traditionally focus on such concepts as parenting style, approach, attitude or practice. The main consideration behind these concepts is what parents appear to be doing at a single point of time, referring to parenting per se. This paper... -
