ms, rectangular pulses), and the influence of various agents on the evoked tritium-outflow was investigated. Oxotremorine (Oxo, 0.1∼10 ՌM), a muscarinic agonist, and N6-cyclopentyladenosine (CPA, 1∼30 ՌM), a specific A1-adenosine agonist, decreased the ACh release in a dose-dependent manner, without affecting the basal rate of release. 4-aminopyridine (4AP), a specific A-type K+-channel blocker (1∼100 ՌM), increased the evoked ACh release in a dose-related fashion, and... -

during Phase 1. However, none of the above agents modulated the pattern of Phase 2 in [K]O in response to AA. Taken together, the experimental data suggest that 4-aminopyridine-sensitive Kchannels, large conductance Ca2-activated K channels and ATP-sensitive K channels may not be the major contributors to the sudden increase of [K]O during the early stage of brain ischemia, suggesting the presence of other routes of Kefflux during brain ischemia. -

215±37%) at 10-7 M. In OMCT, ET-1 and ET-2 increased [Ca2]i in a dose-dependent manner (10-10∼10-6 M). To the contrary, ET-3-induced [Ca2]i rise was begun from 10-12 M. BQ-123Na, an antagonist of ETA receptor, at 10-4 M inhibited about 30% of [Ca2]i rise induced by ET-1 and -3. Binding experiments using [125I]ET-3 showed the existence of ETB receptor in OMCT. This binding was replaced by ET-1, ET-2 or ET-3 by the almost same degree but not by angiotensin II or vasopressin. -
Spontaneous Electrical Activity in Cerebellar Purkinje Neurons of Postnatal Rats

Although cerebellar Purkinje cells display spontaneous electrical activity in vivo and in slice experiments, the mechanism of the spontaneous activity generation has not been clearly understood. The aim of this study was to investigate whether cerebellar Purkinje cells of postnatal rats generate spontaneous electrical activity without synaptic inputs. Dissociated cerebellar Purkinje cells were used for reducing synaptic inputs in the present study. Cerebellar Purkinje cells with dendrites were... -
흰쥐 해마에서 Norepinephrine 유리에 미치는 N6-cyclopentyladenosine 및 Forskolin의 영향 Interaction of Forskolin with the Effect of N6-cyclopentyladenosine on Norepinephrine Release in Rat Hippocampus

pretreatment. Rolipram (1 & 10 ㄍM), a phosphodiesterase inhibitor, did not affect the evoked NE release, but reduced the CPA effect. And 8-bromo-cAMP (100 & 300 ㄍM), a membrane permeable cAMP analogue, inhibited the CPA effect significantly. These results suggest that the A1-adenosine heteroreceptor plays an important role in NE-release via nucleotide- binding protein Gi in the rat hippocampus and that the adenylate cyclase system might be participated in this process. -
Platelet-Activating Factor Enhances Interleukin-1 Activity by Alveolar Macrophages Inhibition by PAF Specific Receptor Antagonists

It is becoming increasingly clear that the inflammatory reaction can be ascribed to a complex array of mediators generated and released from activated phagocytes. In this study, the effect of PAF on interleukin-1(IL-1) activity by rat alveolar macrophages(AM) was examined using thymocyte proliferation assay in the supernate of sample obtained after 24 hr culture. When AM were cultured with PAF alone, no change in IL-1 activity was observed. However, the combined addition of PAF and muramyl... -
Neural Adaptation of Beta Adrenergic Receptor Subtypes after Chronic Imipramine Treatment A Quantitative Autoradiographic Study

rats. Beta adrenergic receptors were measured by quantitative autoradiography of the binding of 3H-dihydroalprenolol (3H-DHA) in coronal sections of rat brain. Repeated treatment of rats with imipramine significantly reduced the binding of 3H-DHA to beta-1 AR in many brain areas, especially throughout the cerebral cortex, hippocampus, thalamus, and amygdala. Significant reductions of the binding of 3H-DHA to beta-2 AR were not found in any area of the brain. These data suggests that a selective...
