(p<0.05). Bilateral AROM and PROM showed significant improvements (p<0.05). When the self-MFR technique was applied to the hamstring, the semimembranosus showed a significant change in pain threshold (p<0.05). Conclusions: Our findings suggest that indirect application based on the Anatomy Trains could be effective for those who need to improve muscle flexibility. Moreover, self-MFR easily alleviates myofascial pain while maintaining flexibility, and can be performed at any time and place. -
The effects of performing squats on an inclined board on thigh muscle activation
Min-kwon Cho, Ju-Yeun Kang, Ji-Hoon Oh, Jun-Gu Wu, Eun-Byul Choi, Si-Eun Park, Matthew Choi 물리치료재활과학회 Physical Therapy Rehabilitation Science 6 Pages

activation and exercise effect was observed with increasing incline angles of the board. Changes in bilateral BF muscle activity were found; however, none were found to be significant. Conclusions: Bilateral VMO activity was found to be significant when the squats were performed at an ankle angle of 10° of incline when compared to at an ankle angle of 0° and 5° of incline. Squats performed on an incline can be recommended as an effective method to facilitate lower extremity muscle activities. -
Effect of changes in head postures during use of laptops on muscle activity of the neck and trunk

spinae muscle activity (p<0.05) with significant increases in lumbar spinae muscle activity (p<0.05). Also, muscle activity with the neutral head posture significantly increased more in the sternocleidomastoid muscle and lumbar spinae than that of the natural posture (p<0.05). Conclusions: Our study results suggest that in order to prevent musculoskeletal pain, the neutral head posture with use of laptops is effective in reducing load to the shoulders and vitalizing the postural muscles. -
Construction of a new questionnaire for assessing physical therapy student attitudes towards their education and profession and testing its validity and reliability
Jaya Shanker Tedla 물리치료재활과학회 Physical Therapy Rehabilitation Science 6 Pages
물리치료재활과학회 Physical Therapy Rehabilitation Science 2017, 제 6권 제 1호 4 20-25 (6 pages)
Objective: During the physical therapy education, if we can understand the student’s attitude then we can make valuable suggestions with respect to the teaching in the universities and professional employment in the country. The aim of the current study is to develop a questionnaire to test the physical therapy students attitudes towards their education and profession and to test its test-retest reliability and content validity. Design: Cross-sectional study. Methods: A total of 47 physical... -
Reliability of rehabilitative ultrasound imaging for measuring the gluteus maximus muscle at rest and during contraction
Ju-Ri Jeong, Su-Jin Lee, Wan-Hee Lee 물리치료재활과학회 Physical Therapy Rehabilitation Science 7 Pages
물리치료재활과학회 Physical Therapy Rehabilitation Science 2017, 제 6권 제 1호 2 7-13 (7 pages)
Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the inter-rater and intra-rater reliability of rehabilitative ultrasound imaging (RUSI) for measurement of muscle thickness with changes in angles of the gluteus maximus (GM) at rest and during contraction. Design: Cross-sectional study. Methods: Twenty-two healthy men volunteered for this study. GM muscle images were obtained in the resting position and during prone hip extension with knee flexion at hip abduction angles of 0° and 30°,... -
Changes in muscle activity of the abdominal muscles according to exercise method and speed during dead bug exercise
Byeong-Gwon Yun, Seung-Joo Lee, Hyun-Jeong So, Won-Seob Shin 물리치료재활과학회 Physical Therapy Rehabilitation Science 6 Pages

dead-bug exercise performed with both the upper and lower extremities compared to that with only the upper extremity or the lower extremities (p<0.05). Conclusions: These findings demonstrate that the performance of the dead-bug exercise with both the upper and lower extremities combined at a high speed is more effective compared to other exercises. Therefore, it is suggested that more favourable and effective outcomes may occur when the type and speed of the exercise is chosen appropriately. -
The effect of hip joint exercise using an elastic band on dynamic balance, agility and flexibility in healthy subjects
Dong Hyun Kang, Woo Hyung Lee, Song Lim, Yu Yeong Kim, Soung Wook An, Chang Gyeong Kwon, Gyeong Hee Lee, Nu Ri Choi, Na Yeong Lee, Bo Min 물리치료재활과학회 Physical Therapy Rehabilitation Science 7 Pages
물리치료재활과학회 Physical Therapy Rehabilitation Science 2016, 제 5권 제 4호 6 198-204 (7 pages)
Objective: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of hip joint exercise using an elastic band on dynamic balance, agility, and flexibility in healthy subjects. Design: Randomized controlled trial. Methods: Thirty-five subjects (between 19 and 23 years) were randomly allocated to two groups: hip flexion exercise (HFE)group (n=17) and the hip abduction exercise (HAE) group (n=18). The HFE group participated in flexion exercise of the hip joint using an elastic band for 50 minutes a... -
Effects of visual restriction and unstable base dual-task training on balance and concentration ability in persons with stroke

the training (p<0.05). In the comparisons between the groups, the VUDT group showed significant improvements in center of pressure (COP), FRT, and BBS, and TMT compared to the SDT group (p<0.05). Conclusions: It would be more effective to conduct dual-task training as a rehabilitation training program under vision restriction and unstable supporting surface conditions than to conduct the test under unstable supporting plane conditions to improve balance and attention in chronic stroke patients. -

Objective: The purpose of this study was to find the limited patterns of middle-aged women in selective functional movement evaluation and analyze the effects of pattern improvement exercises and general control groups on the Health Risk Appraisal (HRA). Design: Randomized controlled trial. Methods: The 31 subjects were physically healthy middle-aged women aged 40-59 living in Seoul, The subjects were randomly divided into an experimental group and a control group. Forty-three physically healthy... -
Effects of relaxation approach with self-exercise on head posture, static postural stability, and headache in persons with tension-type headache
Sang-Yong Park, Su-jin Hwang 물리치료재활과학회 Physical Therapy Rehabilitation Science 7 Pages

group after training (p<0.05). Neck disability index and six-item headache impact test significantly improved after training compared with before training in the control group (p<0.05). However, the foot pressure was not significantly different between relaxation approach and control groups. Conclusions: This study suggests that treatment with relaxation approach combined with self-exercise would be effective in reducing the amount of forward head posture, neck disability and headache impacts.
