Impact of a Recombinant Biocontrol Bacterium, Pseudomonas fluorescens pc78, on Microbial Community in Tomato Rhizosphere
한국식물병리학회 The Plant Pathology Journal 9 Pages
한국식물병리학회 The Plant Pathology Journal 2016, 32권 2호 7 136-144 (9 pages)
pc78 to other organisms was not apparent. Population and colony types of culturable bacteria were not significantly affected by the introduction of P. fluorescens pc78 or pc78-48 into tomato rhizosphere. Additionally, terminal restriction fragment length polymorphism profiles were investigated to estimate the influence on the microbial community structure in tomato rhizosphere between non-treated and pc78-48-treated samples. Interestingly, rhizosphere soil treated with strain pc78-48 exhibited a... -
BGRcast: A Disease Forecast Model to Support Decision-making for Chemical Sprays to Control Bacterial Grain Rot of Rice

for the periods of inoculum build-up in association with rice plants and panicle infection during the heading stage, respectively. The BGRcast model was able to forecast actual occurrence of BGR at the probability of 71.4% and its false alarm ratio was 47.6%. With the thresholds of C;sub>inc;/sub>= 0.3 and C;sub>inf;/sub>= 0.5, the model was able to provide advisories that could be used to make decisions on whether to spray bactericide at the pre- and post-heading stage. -
Roles of Forkhead-box Transcription Factors in Controlling Development, Pathogenicity, and Stress Response in Magnaporthe oryzae

one or both of the cell cycle inhibitors hydroxyurea and benomyl, suggesting their role in cell cycle control. On the other hand, loss of MoFOX1 (ΔMofox1) did not show any noticeable changes in development, pathogenicity, and stress response. Deletion of MoFOX2 was not successful even after repeated attempts. Taken together, these results suggested that MoFKH1 and Mo-HCM1 are important in fungal development and that MoFKH1 is further implicated in pathogenicity and stress response in M. oryzae. -
Alternative Measure for Assessing Incidence of Leaf Stripe on Barley
한국식물병리학회 The Plant Pathology Journal 4 Pages
한국식물병리학회 The Plant Pathology Journal 2012, 28권 2호 12 212-215 (4 pages)
economically important pathogen of barley found worldwide. It is critical to clearly define and standardize the leaf stripe assessment methods to avoid subjectivity and variability between assessors. Therefore, in this study, a comparison between the proportion of diseased plants (DP) and the proportion of diseased leaves (DL) per plant was investigated. Disease assessments were made visually at multiple sample sites in artificially and naturally inoculated research and production fields during... -

sessions, 15-20min each session. Outcome measures were visuospatial deficit(line bisection, latter cancellation), Visual and spatial perception(LOTCA-visual perception and spatial perception), motor function of upper extremity(FMA U/E; Fugl-Meyer motor assessment upper extremity, ARAT; Action research arm test), balance(BBS; Berg Balance Scale), mobility(FAC; Functional ambulation classification) and functional level(FIM; Functional independent measure). All Assessments took place on study entry... -
The effects of vibration stimulation applied to the left forearm on unilateral neglect in patients with stroke: A pilot randomized controlled trial
Jin-hyuck Park, Ji-hyuk Park 대한신경계작업치료학회 재활치료과학 9 Pages
대한신경계작업치료학회 재활치료과학 2015, 제 4권 2호 5 63-71 (9 pages)
: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of vibratory stimulation applied to the left forearm on unilateral neglect in patients with stroke. Methods : The subjects were 11 unilateral neglect patients with stroke. They were divided into 2 groups; 6 experimental subjects and 5 control subjects. Both groups received standardized rehabilitation program and occupational therapy for the intervention of unilateral neglect in a day. In random order, line bisection test (LBT), Albert... -

addition, measures for evaluating the effectiveness of VR in medicaltraining as well as methods for delivering health care, including telerehabilitation and telemedicine, are addressed. Results and Conclusions: Rich evidence from the existing literature shows that VR-based medical training and health servicesare effective and promising apparatuses in medicine. Despite the many benefits of VR in medicine, several limitations are noted as they provide important avenues for further research. key... -

children of ethnic minority backgrounds, Han children demonstrated higher levels of cognitive and socioemotional development than their peers. Children with special educational needs scored lower than typically developing children on assessments of school readiness. Kindergarten and primary teachers acknowledged the importance of socio-emotional development and approaches to learning, but differed on expectations relating to academic achievement and behavior. Family socioeconomic status (SES)... -
Examining the Predictors of Naming Speed among Thai Preschoolers: Confirming the Important Roles of Visual Perception and Sustained Attention

contextual language and social elements that are different from speakers of other languages. The goal of this study was to further understand important variables that predict future reading readiness among Thai children, namely, the influence of visual perception and attention on naming ability. There were 158 preschoolers aged 5 -6.8 years of age, who performed the following tests: Coloured Progressive Matrices (CPM), Attention Sustained (AS), Visual Perception (VP), and Rapid Automatized... -

in normative stages of development as per their age and stage requirements. The parameters that were observed included learning outcomes in Math, English, Science and Social studies. An innovative daily baseline assessment was undertaken over a three-month period to understand children’s learning milestones. Results indicate that the learning outcomes were deplorably poor by Indian and international standards of education. Many challenges still remain in helping children gain a healthy start...
