19 Pages
2 19-37 (19 pages)
This study investigated the effects of music combined with heartbeat sounds played through stuffed animals for 4 weeks on children’s emotional-regulation ability, parent-child attachment, and parenting stress. We randomly allocated 63 healthy 5- to 6-year-olds (33 boys and 30 girls) to a music training (n = 31) or a waiting-list control (n = 32) group. Each training-group subject was given a soft stuffed animal with an inbuilt speaker. For 4 weeks, subjects listened to four types of music... -
4 101-124 (24 pages)

by the West. The design of these curricula tends to further exclude those already marginalized, especially with learning taking place in a language other than their mother-tongue. It was in this background that a relevant, mother-tongue based curriculum for ECE was sought to be developed for underserved indigenous communities of Odisha (in eastern India). The process focused on privileging the knowledge epistemologies and eco-cultural heritage of the indigenous communities by collaborating with... -

Alfredo Bautista, Malikka Habib, Raymond Ong, Anthony Eng, Rebecca Bull 환태평양유아교육연구학회 Asia-Pacific journal of research in early childhood education 28 Pages
Asia-Pacific journal of research in early childhood education 2019, Vol.13 No.2 6 95-122 (28 pages)
Mathematics education researchers and curriculum designers have emphasized the importance of representations in fostering students’ mathematical learning. However, most classroom-based studies on representations have focused on primary and secondary levels, and there is limited literature on how preschool teachers integrate representations in regular classroom activities. This qualitative study illustrates specific ways in which preschool educators may utilize multiple representations to teach... -

This study forms part of a broader study, and in this paper the focus is on a three-year-old child and his family from Mainland China. A theoretical discussion of data collected reveals that a collectively created imaginary situation... -

Asia-Pacific journal of research in early childhood education 2018, Vol.12 No.2 3 31-56 (26 pages)
Outdoor education means increasing the opportunity to encounter and experiment with nature, but above all, it means rethinking one’s own relationship with nature. Professionals working in the field of education cannot transmit to children what they do not know or share. Therefore, to foster education in nature with pedagogical skill, it is important for each practitioner to become aware of their own way of thinking and be willing to undergo an authentic noological revolution (Bateson, 1976),...
