J. P. N. Singh, Rishendra Verma, P. Chaudhuri 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 7 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2006, 제 7권 제 2호 15 181-187 (7 pages)
The usefulness of random amplification of polymorphic DNA (RAPD) analysis for typing Indian strains of M. tuberculosis was investigated. M. tuberculosis H37Rv, M. tuberculosis DT and 42 clinical isolates of M. tuberculosis were subjected to RAPD-PCR using 7 random decamer primers. All 7 primers were found to be differentiated and produced specific RAPD profiles. The polymorphic amplicons served as RAPD markers for M. tuberculosis. The dendrograms, obtained by different primers, showed the... -
Characterization of Chinook head salmon embryo phenotypes of infectious salmon anemia virus by real-time RT-PCR
Khalid Munir 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 10 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2006, 제 7권 제 2호 13 167-176 (10 pages)
We have previously described the development of a onetube SYBR Green real-time RT-PCR assay for the detection and quantitation of infectious salmon anemia virus (ISAV) in various biological samples. The twofold aim of the present study was to verify that the optimized SYBR Green real-time RT-PCR conditions could detect ISAV isolates of different geographic origins, and to analyze the growth patterns of the selected ISAV isolates in the Chinook head salmon embryo (CHSE) -214 cells by this assay... -

One step TaqMan real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (R/T RT-PCR)using a set of primers/probes was developed for the detection of foot-and-mouth disease (FMD)virus. The gene-specific probes labeled fluorogen for the internal ribosomal entry site, Leader sequence and 2B regions were used to detect FMD virus (FMDV). This assay specifically detected FMDV both in cell culture preparations and clinical samples, and was capable of distinguishing FMD from other viral diseases... -
Immunogenicity of baculovirus expressed recombinant proteins of Japanese encephalitis virus in mice

대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2005, 제 6권 제 2호 6 125-133 (9 pages)
Genes encoding for the premembrane and envelope (prME), envelope (E) and nonstructural protein (NS1) of Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV) were cloned. Each protein was expressed in baculovirus expression system. Of the three proteins expressed in baculovirus system, only prME had hemagglutination activity. The prME (72 and 54 kDa), E (54 kDa) and NS1 (46 kDa) proteins could be detected by Western blotting in the recombinant virus infected cells. Immunogenicity of the recombinant proteins... -

due to bacterial diseases, particularly streptococcosis caused by Lactococcus garvieae. The bacterial surface characteristics of SJ7 and TY6 were found to have capsule but not NB13 and YS18. The experiential evaluation of L. garvieae pathogenicity, the capsular isolates showed high cumulative mortality i.e. SJ7 (100%) and TY6 (60%) compared to non-capsular isolates. Based on this result the capsular isolates L. garvieae were highly suspected as the causative agent of streptococcosis in rockfish. -
Molecular fingerprinting of clinical isolates of Mycobacterium bovis and Mycobacterium tuberculosis from India by restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP)
Sandeep Kumar Singh, Rishendra Verma, Devendra H. Shah 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 5 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2004, 제 5권 제 4호 8 331-335 (5 pages)
Forty mycobacterial strains comprising clinical Indian isolates of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (28 field isolates +1H37 Rv) and Mycobacterium bovis (10 field isolates +1 AN5) were subjected to restriction fragment length polymorphism analysis (RFLP) using IS6110 and IS1081 probes. Most of these strains originated from dairy cattle herd and human patients from Indian Veterinary research Institute (IVRI) campus isolated from the period of 1986 to 2000. Our study showed presence of 8 copies of... -
Effects of Tributyltin Chloride on the Reproductive System in Pubertal Male Rats
Wook-joon Yu, Sang-yoon Nam, Young-chul Kim, Beom-jun Lee, Young-won Yun 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 6 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2003, 제 4권 제 1호 5 29-34 (6 pages)
Detrimental effects of tributyltin (TBT) chloride on the reproductive system were investigated in pubertal male rats. Sixty Sprague-Dawley rats aged with 35 days were assigned to six different groups; negative control receiving vehicle, positive control receiving methyltestosterone (10 mg/kg B.W.), TBT chloride (5 mg/kg B.W., 10 mg/kg B.W., and 20 mg/kg B.W.), and a combination of TBT chloride (10 mg/kg B.W.) and flutamide (10 mg/kg B.W). The animals were treated with test compounds by oral... -

During the period from January to December of 2001, a total of 3,391 swine sera were submitted to our laboratory from 256 farms for the diagnosis of porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS). The antibody to porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) was tested by the indirect immunofluorescent antibody (IFA) test. Of the 256 farms tested, 230 farms (89.8%) were positive for the PRRSV antibody. The overall seroprevalence of the PRRSV antibody was 52.1% (1765/3391).... -

Swine respiratory diseases induce severe economic losses in the swine industry worldwide. Several methods have been developed and applied to control these diseases. However, there are still problems of disease control in the swine industry. Recently, egg yolk antibodies have been found to offer several advantages for disease control in animals and humans. In a previous study (24), antibodies to several causative pathogens of swine respiratory diseases were developed. However, several problems... -

Porcine circovirus (PCV) type2 was isolated using primary porcine kidney cells from lymph node of piglets with typical PMWS. The presence of the virus was identified by PCR using primers specific to PCV type2. The ORFs 1 and 2 were amplified by PCR using primers corresponding to the target genes of the PCV type 2. Cloned genes were inserted into the baculovirus expression vector and PCV recombinant proteins were expressed using baculovirus expression system. Recombinant protein expression was...
