disposition of freedom as a reflective consciousness that plays an irreplaceable role in supervising and advancing the development of liberal learning by virtue of Oakeshott’s perception of freedom. Conclusion: The discussion of Oakeshott’s concept of the conservative disposition, which deepens the importance and necessity of liberal education, can furtherly make a contribution to the re-establishment for the orientation of educational activities, as well as for the trusting relationship... -
4 101-124 (24 pages)

which has the subtypes adapted from Play in Early Childhood Evaluation System. The results revealed that the occurrence of play type was higher in the free play scenario and reduced in the structured toy play scenario. A developmental trend was observed in free play over structured toy play among children. The findings would be helpful in planning play-based counselling/intervention strategies for children and create awareness to teachers about the various developmental patterns of play types. -

Asia-Pacific journal of research in early childhood education 2020, Vol.14 No.2 2 27-51 (25 pages)
The paper aims to research kindergarten student teachers’ perceptions of reflective journal writing and its role in fieldwork placement within the context of Hong Kong. To respond to their professional growth, student teachers use reflective journal writing as an essential assignment in early childhood education because it gives them the opportunity to explore the understanding they have gained in a specific context of fieldwork placement practices. Nevertheless, the quality of reflection is... -

Su-Jeong Wee, So Jung Kim, Kyoung Jin Kim Asia-Pacific journal of research in early childhood education 25 Pages
Asia-Pacific journal of research in early childhood education 2016, Vol.10 No.2 7 125-149 (25 pages)
In spite of the emphases on multicultural education and role-playing activities in early childhood classrooms in South Korea, there has been a startling paucity of studies examining the effectiveness of role-play in teaching kindergarteners multiracial and ethnic awareness. This qualitative case study examines how South Korean kindergarteners develop their perception and understanding of racial and cultural diversity through role-plays. 25 five year-old children and their parents and teacher... -

Asia-Pacific journal of research in early childhood education 20 Pages
Asia-Pacific journal of research in early childhood education 2012, Vol.6 No.1 1 1-20 (20 pages)
There is a global tendency towards evidence-based practice in education, meaning that practice is molded by research that prescribes “what works” to achieve predefined outcomes. This may present serious pitfalls. Considering that early childhood education in all affluent regions and beyond has to deal with social and cultural diversity, professionals will have to work in contexts of unpredictability and complexity. In this manuscript we develop the central pedagogical questions regarding...
