목 적: 부비동 골종의 빈도, 호발부휘 및 부비동 염증성 질환과의 연관관계를 알고자 본 연구를 하였다. 대상 및 방법: 부비동염 증세를 호소한 1578명의 PNS CT 소견을 분석하고 이를 단순촬영 소견과 비교하였다. 결 과: 골종의 발생빈도는 단순촬영상 0.82%(13/1578)이었고 CT상 3.29%(52/1578)이었다. CT상 5예에서 2개씩의 골종이 있어서 총 57개의 골종을 발견하였다. CT상 최호발 부위는 사골동이었고(54%,31/57), 전두동은 두 번째이었다(35%.20/57). 골종의 78.9%에서 부비동염 동반되었다. 결 론: 본 연구에서 나타난 부비동 골종의 발생빈도는 기존의 보고보다 높았고 또한 CT 분석 결과 골종의 최호발부위도 기존결과와 달리 전두동이 아니라 사골동이었다. 이는 CT의 고해상능 및 모집단을 대상으로 CT를 이용한 분석이 있어야 할것으로 생각한다.
Purpose : To evaluate the incidence and the site of osteomas and their relation to sinonasal inflammation.Materials & Methods: 1578 PNS computed tomography (CT) of patients with symptoms of sinusitis were evaluated and correlation with plain radiographic finding was done.Results : The total incidence of osteomas was 0.82%(13/1578) on plain radiography and 3.29% (52/1578) on CT. Fifty-seven osteomas were found in 1578 PNS CT, including 2 osteomas in 5 cases. The most common site was the ethmoid sinus(54%, 31/57) and the next was the frontal sinus(35%, 20/57) on CT. Forty-five osteomas(78.9%) were associated with the sinonasal inflammatory change.Conclusion : The total incidence of osteomas from our results was higher than previous reports. And based on the analysis of CT, the most common site was not the frontal sinus as all the previous reports stated, but the ethmoid sinus, probably by virtue of high resolution of CT and/or higher prevalence of inflammation in the ethmoid sinus.
