Although the ceramic technique called Raku has been known to be invented by Japaness "The Book of Ceramic Artists" written by Bernard Leach indicates that it is in fact originated by Korean named Cho, Ji-ro who had settled in Japan since 1525. Raku has been continously developed in Europe and America. It now brings out a great deal of variation through skillful techniques. What the ceramists are supposed to is to seek the reasons why the Raku could not developed in Korea compared to the foreign countries, also they need to find out the direction of its development and work on it continously. This study is to examine and analyge the process of development of Raku ceramic technique along with historical background.ackground.
