웹페이지(webpage)의 구축이 생활화됨에 따라 공공도서관에서도 웹페이지를 통한 정보의 제공과 홍보가 점점 활발해지고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 공공도서관 웹페이지의 이론적 배경을 살펴본 뒤, 선행연구에서 제시한 기준을 근거로, 서울시에 소재한 공공도서관 웹페이지의 실태를 웹페이지의 구조와 내용에 따라 조사.분석하여 그 문제점을 알아보았으며, 이를 바탕으로 공공도서관 웹페이지를 활성화하기 위하여 공공도서관의 웹페이지가 효과적으로 설계.운영되는 방안을 제시하고 있다.
As designing webpage has become part of daily life, the public library tends to use the webpage for the information service and the public relations as well. In this context, this study explores the theoretical background on the webpage of public libraries； investigates and analyzes, based on previous studies, the webpage of public libraries in Seoul in terms of its informations structure and contents : and suggests some recommendations, through designing and controlling, for the effective use of the webpage of public libraries.
