This study examined the effects of parental psychological control on relational aggression. Social evaluative anxiety and anger-in were examined as important mediators in the link between parental psychological control and relational aggression. Parental Psychological Control Questionnaire was administered to 475 middle school students along with the measures of quality of relational aggression, social evaluative anxiety, anger-in. Data analyses revealed the followings. First, parental psychological control has significant positive correlations with adolescents' relational aggression, social evaluative and anger-in. Second, social evaluative anxiety mediated the effect of parental psychological control on adolescents' relational aggression. Third, anger-in mediated the effect of parental psychological control on relational aggression. These findings suggest that therapists must understand the role of social evaluative anxiety and anger-in on the relations of parental psychological control to relational aggression and develop intervention plan based on that. More implications of the study and suggestion for the future study are discussed.
