The purpose of this study was to explore the experiences of users with disabilities using
Personal Assistance Services (PAS) additional support managed by Sungnam City. The main
issue of this study was to explore how PAS additional support managed by local governments
affect users with disabilities through the context of life in the dimension of fees and target
users. To solve this research question, In-depth interviews were carried out with 8 disabled
people using PAS additional support. The data was analyzed by qualitative research methods.
The results has been analyzed in two dimensions. First, in relation to PAS additional support
fees, the result was analyzed ‘Entry into independent life and restrictions’. Second, in relation
to users with disabilities using Personal Assistance Services (PAS) additional support, the result
was analyzed ‘Supplementary support for the limited users’. Based on these results, the
discussions were presented for the improvement of Personal Assistance Services System.
