본 연구는 내부-외부통제성, 긍정 및 부정정서가 의무경찰의 정신건강에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하는데 그 목적을 두고 있다. 본 연구는 D 광역시에 소재하고 있는 세 군데 경찰서 중대 소속 의무 경찰 334명을 연구대상으로 하였다. 연구에 사용한 측정도구는 정신건강 검사척도, 내부-외부통제성척 도, 긍정 및 부정정서척도이다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 21.0 통계 프로그램을 사용하여 Cronbach’α를 사용 한 신뢰도 계수 산출, 빈도분석, Pearson의 이원변량상관분석, 중다회귀분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 외부통제성과 부정정서는 정신건강 하위척도 중 정신 병리와 유의한 정적 상관을 나타내었고 18.9%의 설명력으로 정신 병리에 영향을 미친다. 둘째, 내부통제성과 긍정정서는 정신건강 하위척도 중 자아와 유의한 정적 상관을 나타내었고 33.1%의 설명력으로 자아에 영향을 미 친다. 셋째, 내부통제성과 긍정정서가 정신건강 하위척도 중 사회적 지지에 유의한 정적 상관을 나타 내었고 24.8%의 설명력으로 사회적 지지에 영향을 미친다. 이러한 결과를 통해 알 수 있는 것은 높은 수준의 부정정서와 외부통제적인 의무경찰은 그들의 일상생활에서 많은 어려움에 부딪히게 될 때 정 신적으로 불건강하게 될 수 있다. 의무경찰의 정신건강에 도움이 되는 자아와 사회적 지지 향상을 위 해 내부통제성과 긍정정서의 증진이 필요하다. 이를 위해 의무경찰에 대한 체계적인 교육 프로그램과 상담 프로그램 그리고 지휘관과 또래 선․후임 병에 대한 전문적이고 체계적인 교육이 중요하다. 그 리고 군대와는 다른 방식의 차별적인 상담 개입 전략이 요구되며 전문적인 상담인력 양상과 군부대 내의 구조적인 변화 등이 필요하다.
This study examines internal-external control and positive and negative emotions and evaluate their impact on the mental health of police duties. The subjects of this study were 334 conscripted policeman employed at three police station duties in D City. Using the measurement tools, Mental health inspection measures, internal-external control measures, and the positive and negative emotion scales the data were collected. Date were analyzed or using the reliability coefficient Cronbach’s using the SPSS 21.0 statistical program, and frequency analysis, Pearson’s bivariate correlation and multiple regression analysis were performed. The results of were as follows. First, the external control and negative emotions have a mental impact explanatory power of 18.9%, showing a significant correlation with psychopathology in the mental health sub-region. Second, internal control and positive emotions affect the explanatory power of the ego was 33.1% and had a significant positive correlation with the self and the mental health sub-region. Third, internal control and positive emotions showed a significant positive correlation with social support of mental health and was affected by the sub-region in the explanatory power of social support by 24.8%. Conscripted policemen with a high level of Negative emotions and external control can become mental unhealthy when encountering difficulties in their ordinary lives. For personal and social support to help improve the mental health of police duties requires the promotion of internal control and positive emotions. Systematic training education and consultation programs for police to consult with professional leaders and peers would be an important reform for police efficacy.
