The purpose of this study was to analyse the structural relationships between mid-level administrators’ authentic
leadership, level of learning organization, self efficacy of staffs, and organizational effectiveness at universities in
Korea. Research questions of this study were as follows. First, what influence did mid-level administrators’ authentic
leadership, level of learning organi- zation, and staffs’ self-efficacy have on organizational effectiveness? Second, what
influence did mid-level administrators’ authentic leadership and level of learning organization have on staffs’
self-efficacy? Third, What influence did mid-level administrators’ authentic leadership have on the level of learning
organization? To achieve the research purpose, the sample(n=638) was drawn from staffs at 20 national universities.
In order to verify the hypothesized research model, the collected data were analyzed with structural equation
modeling using SPSS(18.0)와 AMOS(22.0) programs. The major findings of this study were as follows. First,
authentic leadership, level of learning organization, and staffs’ self-efficacy were found to have a direct positive
influence on organizational effectiveness respectively. Second, authentic leadership and learning organization had a
positive effect on staffs’ self-efficacy. Third, authentic leadership had the level of learning organization and had direct
effects on organizational effectiveness through the intervening variables of learning organization and self-efficacy.
