Purpose of this study is finding out a remedy for problem currently social study
textbook in braille has, after 2009 educational curriculum revision. For the right
understanding to find out solution, this study reviewed visual materials of a social
textbook for elementary school by type, and reconfirmed whether they are
appropriately construed as its right meaning. Also, through these visual materials of
a textbook, analyzed how compliance ratio are built following as a book for an
educational and publication of braille manual for an educational.
As a result of study, there are 266 visual materials of fifth former’s 2nd
semester in elementary school after adapting 2009 educational curriculum revision.
And the most of part, 79.7% of visual materials were composed of Picture and
drawings as a first level. And map, Cartoon, diagram and composite data are
followed as a next level. But 67.45%, the most part of picture and drawings which
account for biggest portion were omitted or having errors by themselves in the
braille textbook. Result for the Analysis of compliance on a book for an educational
and publication of braille manual for an educational were shown that only 86 out of
266(32.33%) complied with publication of braille manual for an educational.
Based on this study, I made conclusion when making a braille textbook, we
need to search for an improvement method by delivering write staff’s opinion on a
visual materials, adapting manual through a result of many studies and ordering
supplementary work by gathering teacher’s opinion who works in a field.
