The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of group art therapy using reality therapy on
parenting stress and parent role activity of parents. For the experiments, two types of measurement tools
were used. For quantity analysis, arents’ self-reported surveys on parenting stress and parent role activity
were analyzed. In addition, to have quality analysis, a pre-test and post-test were conducted using the
PPAT. The following statements are the results of this study. First of all, group art treatment using Reality
Therapy on parents whose children are currently in kindergarten had significant influence on parenting
stress. Secondly, group art treatment using reality therapy on parents whose children are currently in
kindergarten had significant influence on parent role activity. This study showed that the group art
treatment using proper reality therapy techniques in each session resulted in positive effects on parenting
stress and parent role activity. However a low number of subjects were tested, so it is difficult to
generalize the results
