본 연구는 만 4세, 5세 자녀를 둔 아버지를 대상으로 양육참여 및 양육효능감이 유아의 또 래유능성과 어떠한 관련성과 영향을 미치는지 알아보고자 하였다. 본 연구대상은 충청남도 에 소재한 18개의 어린이집과 유치원의 만 4세, 5세 유아 222명과 그들의 아버지이다. 빈도 와 평균, 표준편차, Cronbach's α 계수를 산출하였고, Pearson의 상관관계분석, 단계적 다중회 귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 아버지의 양육참여, 양육효능감과 유아의 또래유능성 간에는 정적 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 자녀의 양육에 적극적으로 참여하고 자녀양육에 대한 자신감이 높은 아버지의 자녀가 또래관계를 형성하고 유지하는 능력이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 아버지의 양육효능감 중 정서적 차원이 자녀의 또래유능성에 가장 큰 영향 을 미치고, 그 다음으로는 아버지의 양육참여 요인 중 생활지도가 또래유능성에 영향을 미 치는 것으로 나타났다. 이상의 연구결과에 기초하여 본 연구는 아버지의 양육참여 및 양육 효능감이 유아의 또래유능성에 미치는 영향에 관련된 시사점을 논의하였고 제한점 및 후속 연구의 방향을 제시하였다.
The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between father's parental involvement and efficacy and the peer competence of their preschool age children. The subjects in this study were 222 preschoolers and their fathers in 18 different daycare centers located in the Chungcheong province. The instruments used in this study were questionnaires concerned with the one's participation and efficacy as a parent as perceived by the fathers as well as peer competence of preschoolers as measured by teachers. Descriptive statistics, Pearson's product-moment correlation, hierachical multiple regressions were conducted in analyzing the research data. The results showed that the father's involvement and their efficacy as a parent was positively associated with their children's peer competence. The children were more adept at building peer relationships when the fathers were less anxious and got less discouraged about child rearing and engaged in helping their children to cultivate basic manners and acquire good life habits.
