자원봉사활동은 개인의 자기실현 뿐 아니라 지역사회 구성원의 자발적 참여에 의해 사회적 문제를 자치적으로 해결하고 예방할 수 있는 효과를 가지고 있으 며, 정부에서는 미시적인 부분의 사회복지 서비스 제공에 대한 어려움을 자원봉 사활동을 통해 보충할 수 있다. 또한 사회복지시설이나 시민단체의 입장에서는 제한된 예산으로 인하여 일어나는 인력부족 현상을 자원봉사자를 통해 원조받을 수 있고 보다 나은 서비스를 제공할 수 있다. 한국사회에서 지역마다 자원봉사 자의 활동과 필요성은 인식하고 있으나 자원봉사자의 관리에 대해서는 기존 연 구가 매우 부족하므로 자원봉사관리의 현황을 살펴보는 것은 의의있는 것이라 할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 자원봉사자에 대한 지금까지의 선행연구나 실태조사 등과 초점 을 달리하여 사회복지기관의 자원봉사관리를 중심으로 우리나라의 자원봉사관리 의 현황을 파악하고, 이후 자원봉사 참여의 확대와 자원봉사활동 프로그램 개발 및 효과적인 관리방법 연구에 대한 함의를 일본의 자원봉사관리 사례를 살펴보 며 모색하였다. 또한 연구결과를 바탕으로 자원봉사관리에 대한 정책적 제언을 제시하고 있다.
Volunteer work has still had many problems which should be improved from many aspects even if many different kinds of efforts have been made for many participations and continuity as social perception of voluntary work has been increased in Korea. Studies on volunteer works conducted until now had been intended for the actual condition survey, continuity, and the level of satisfaction for volunteer activity or volunteer such as subjects of volunteer work, participation methods, composition of participant number. It was not easy to draw activities suitable for level and expectations of volunteer works in many different local environments even if there were good manuals for volunteer work. From this point of view, this study conducted a field research centered on the volunteer work management process of community service centers differently from study objects conducted in previous studies up to date. This study attempted to understand all the circumstances of volunteer work management and simultaneously suggest plan for management process of appropriate volunteer work, effective management of volunteer work, and possible solutions to the problems.
