Pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care are the life time event that all
people experience directly or indirectly. Especially, for our country, the
mother's convalescence after giving birth was traditionally taken cared by
the family members, but as the society got industrialize, women entered
the labor market and the modern social framework, which is urbanization
and the trend towards the nuclear family, made the traditional postpartum
care to be difficult.
In spite of the social atmosphere, the traditional postpartum care culture
in Korea was continued, Still, even though it is in a different kind of form,
a woman in her postpartum and the newly born infant will be needed to be
taken care as it used to be. For this kind of purpose, a unique organization
called 'Postpartum Care Center' (Sanhujoriwon) and 'Postpartum caretaker'
(Sanhudoumi) has come into being. This is an inevitable result caused by
the clinging to our countries unique postpartum care custom, changes on
the society, and the family structure.
This study, postpartum maternal characteristics according to the general
characteristics and postpartum services, and newborn care services managed
by analyzing satisfaction and requirement 'Postpartum caretaker' role in the
first postpartum assistant to manage the qualifications system and the
training process from the systematic development of professional education
programs and be sure to complete the with independent expertise
'postpartum caretaker' should foster continuing education through continuing
education level of standardized 'postpartum caretaker' will need to be
managed.
Therefore, the positive part of the traditional postpartum women and also to reflect the needs of 'Postpartum caretaker' to use the maternal and
newborn care and health maintenance needs the promotion and 'Postpartum
caretaker' in a unique facilitator of the institutional research continues to be
settled through the 'Postpartum caretaker's postpartum and newborn care
services of a helper service for improving the development and use of
standardized guidelines, and I hope to not form a study involving more
actively.
