The purpose of this study iswas to investigate the effect of art therapy on decreasing the anxiety and
aggressiveness of children ofinone-parent families. We conducted a total of 20 sessions for the research
subjects, second grade boys of one parent in P city, from November 2015 to March 2016, once a week for
40minutes each session. As the measurement tool, we used the anxiety scale that Kim, J.(1979) adapted
from the STAL of Spielberger(1970) and the aggression scale that Noh, A.(1983) adapted to the situation in
Korea from the Hostility Inventory produced by Buss & Durkee(1957). As the projective drawing test, we
analyzed a qualitative comparison of kinetic house-tree-person(K-HTP) test and kinetic school drawing(KSD)
test before and after. The results of this study were as follows. First, participants showed positive changes
in state anxiety and trait anxiety. Second, they showed overall positive changes in physical aggression,
linguistic aggression, bypass aggression, negativity, and excitability. In the aspect of qualitative effects of the
kinetic house-tree-person(K-HTP) and kinetic school drawing(KSD) test, nervous and anxious appearance was
reduced, which showed positive changes in aggression.
