본 연구는 청소년의 비합리적 신념이 게임중독과 관련이 있는지 살피고 그 과정을 감사성향이 조절 하는지 탐색하였다. 이를 위해 감사성향이 비합리적 신념(규칙경직성, 자기비하, 불공평한 대우)과 게임중독을 조절하는 모형을 설정하고, 이를 청소년 316명의 설문자료를 통해 검증하였다. 위계적 회귀분석 결과, 비합리적 신념이 높을수록 게임중독 수준도 높은 것으로 나타났으며, 감사성향은 이 둘 사이의 관계를 조절하는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 감사성향이 평균이하인 집단에서는 비합리적 신념 과 게임중독의 관계가 유의했으나 감사성향이 1표준편차 이상인 집단에서는 이 둘 사이의 관계가 유의하지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는, 감사성향이 청소년들을 게임중독의 위험으로부터 보호하는 기능을 할 수 있음을 시사한다. 본 연구에서 얻어진 결과를 긍정심리학의 상담 분야 활용 측면에서 논의하였다.
The current study attempted to explore a psychological mechanism through which irrational beliefs influences gaming addiction of adolescents. To do that, we developed a model in which gratitude disposition moderated between irrational beliefs and gaming addiction. Our sample comprised 316 adolescents. As per the result of hierarchical regression analysis, the higher irrational beliefs showed the higher level of gaming addiction. However, gratitude disposition exhibited the moderating effects on the relation between irrational beliefs and gaming addiction. In other words, among the group who gained lower gratitude scores than average, irrational beliefs appeared to be highly was significant with gaming addiction, whereas the other group who received higher scores than one standard deviation was not significant relationship between two. As a result, the above result implicates that gratitude disposition is able to protect adolescents from being addicted to the game easily. The implications of the theory and practice of the findings are discussed from the perspective of positive counseling psychology.
