This study was conducted to find out special school teachers’ awareness and efficient enforcement of free semester system which would be completely implemented in 2018 at special school in Korea. Results are following. First, the level of special school teachers’ understanding on free semester system was high, and they perceived that their role on the management of it was not yet clearly identified. Second, they recognized that the degree of the necessity of free semester system and of possible instruction suited to its goal, and of aid to admission to a school or career exploration were intermediate. Third, to manage free semester system at special school, they thought that they need different goal and management from that of free semester system of regular school because of its different goal between regular and special school. Fourth, they also thought they needed work reduction for its good management at special school and employment jointed activities connected with communities.
