This study aims to analyze satisfactionon English education and needs of improvement and to provide
basic information for improving English education. The subjects of the survey were eight middle school
students with hearing impairment, including metropolitan area. The research questions are as follow. First,
what the degree of satisfaction on English education of middle school students with hearing impairment is
like? Second, Are there differences on the degree of satisfaction on English education in terms of
communication types between English teachers and students with hearing impairment and English grades?
Third, what is the needs of students with hearing impairment? The results of the study are as follow.
First, the degree of satisfaction on English education of middle school students with hearing impairment is
generally low. Second, the degree of satisfaction on English classes and physical environment is low, while
the degree of satisfaction on English teachers is above average. For effective implementation on English
education of schools for the hearing impairment, improvement of teaching methods, teachers' improvement
in English, level-based English instruction, teaching focused on conversation, developing of a range of
support materials, reflecting the opinions of students in the process of adopting textbook or curriculum,
providing the schools with facilities and equipment are needed.
