학문과 예술 분야의 거장들이 실제로 만나서 교류하고 협력하다가, 때로는 충돌하고 결별에 이르는 사례들이 적지 않게 있어 왔다. 이들의 만남과 결별을 다룬 그 동안의 연구들은 주로 이들 사이의 인간적인 갈등이나 일인자 자리를 놓고 벌어지는 치열한 경쟁 등을 부각시켜 왔다. 그러나 이들 거장들의 교류와 협력의 장면을 분석해 보면, 이들이 서로 얽혀서 하나의 수도계를 함께 형성하는 이질적인 복선적 품위의 계열체들에 속해 있었고, 그러면서도 서로 번갈아 상구하고 하화하면서 각자의 품위계열체를 발전시켜 나갔다는 점을 알 수 있다. 그러나 이들의 상구와 하화는 그들 사이의 차이를 해소하는 방향으로 나아가는 것이 아니라, 오히려 그 차이를 더 크게 벌리는 쪽으로 진전되면서 수도계에 일종의 생태적 다양성을 가져와 수도계의 역동적 발전을 선도한다. 이것이 단일한 품위의 사다리에 위치한 선진과 후진 사이의 품차 해소를 주로 해명해 온 교육본위론의 시야에 포착되지 못한 이행상구와 교호교육이다. 이행상구와 교호교육은 교육본위론에 새로운 논의영역을 제공하며, 거장들의 교류, 갈등, 결별의 장면을 새로운 교육학의 개념으로 재조명하여 해석할 것을 요청한다.
Sometimes, great scholars or artists have met each other, and debated intensively who is more advanced. Mostly these debates ended in tragedy. Great scholars or artists often got a grudge against their opponents and broke their relationships. They wasted their excellent abilities and creative energies on personally criticizing and abusing their rivals. If they work cooperatively, they would produce great achievements in their fields. But some scholars or artists exceptionally continued their meetings or interactions and contributed their fields by inventing new theories or producing unprecedented masterpieces. This study shows that there was hidden educational interactions in the debates and competitions between great rivals. Usually, education is supposed to reduce the differences between the more advanced (master) and the less advanced (pupil). But the educational interaction of great rivals has different characteristics comparing to this ordinary education. Great rivals` education has a tendency to rather deepen and widen their differences and causes them to produce new horizons in their fields and make their field to have diverse schools and sects. This study wants to name this extraordinary education ``separately ascending education``. Separately ascending education is a way to make possible the educative evolution of transcendental worlds. This new type of education is expected to extend the research domains of endogenous theory of education.
