This study was to find the intrinsic value of adults\' learning experience by
way of viewing the learning experience of adults with a higher educational
background from their own perspective. Using a phenomenological research
method, this study analyzed the seven participants\' qualitative data obtained
through in-depth interviews.
In regard to major findings, the essence of an individual adult\'s learning
experience was intuitively perceived as \"self-help\". The reason was that
\"self-help\" made it possible for each adult to make desired changes in the
learning process, such as action and reflection attributed by learning-perception.
The study was able to explain the subcategories by extracting the meaning
structure which formed the essence of an adult\'s learning experience that
consist of the learning-recognition of \"self-help\", the positive interaction in the
formation of \"self-help\", and the stream of change through the experience of
\"self-help\".
This study discussed the practice of lifelong learning related to learning
experience of adult learner based on the results and suggested that further
study which stimulate the lifelong learning needs to be continued.
