New genre public art is actively developed, but public art education in schools is not active. The reason for the sluggishness of public art education in schools is the lack of expertise in public art education by teachers and the lack of public art teaching and learning methods. In order to prepare public art teaching and learning methods, research on public art classes must be continuously conducted in schools. This study aims to present the key elements of public art education and explore the methods and values of public art education through examples of public art classes. By analyzing the cases of public art project classes, discussion, collaboration, community, subject, and PBL were extracted as the key elements of school public art education, and a public art project teaching model centered on student participation was devised. Through class diaries written by students and interviews with teachers, it was found that public art project classes not only increase interest in art, but also have a positive effect on thinking ability and relationships. Through this study, it is hoped that the value of public art education will be re-illuminated and public art education will be revitalized.
