Methods : A total of 213 patients discharged from a recovery medical institution in Seoul from April to August 2019 were surveyed on their return home. Using a comparative analysis, the factors were assessed through the cognitive and physical evaluation results of those who returned home and those who did not.
Results : At the recovery medical institution, the rate of returning home was about 41%, and the onset date were set significantly earlier than for group returning home from other hospitals. There was no significant difference in hospitalization duration between the two groups, and the K-MMSE, K-MBI, FMA, and BBS scores were statistically significantly higher than those of the group returning home.
Conclusion : For stroke patients to return home, the better the cognitive function, basic daily performance ability, and balance sense function, the better the results. Based on these studies’ results, the rehabilitation
medical system of the recuperative medical institution, which is closely connected to the community, is built to help patients. It is proposed that various studies should be conducted to improve the efficiency of returns to the home.
