The purpose of this study was to know the effect of singing Trot program on the stress and depression for elders. The subjects were over 65 years of age and living in the Miryang city. The score of stress and depression were investigated by the survey before and after the singing trots program to know the changes of stress score and depression scores. The results were as follows. The mean value of the stress scores before the singing trot program was 2.01, which was moderate, and the value was dropped down to 1.46, which was low, after the program. The trot singing program decreased the stress score by 27% and this was statistically significant(p<0.001). And The mean value of the depression scores was 10.33, which was within the normal range, before the singing trot program. It was decreased to 4.81 by the program. The trot singing program was a decreased depression score by 53.4% and that was statistically significant(p<0.001). Based on the results, it is known that the trot singing program is effective to improve stress and depression levels for the elderly people. Therefore, the trot singing program is to be used as a method of musicaltherapy program to improve stress and depression levels for the elderly people.
