Purpose: This descriptive study aimed to identify the characteristics of college students that influence their views on marriage and spouse selection. Methods: Data were collected from 148 college students through self-reported online questionnaires, which included items on the participants’ general characteristics, marriage views, and spouse-selection criteria. The study was conducted between April and October 2021 and analyzed using multiple regression in the SPSS 23.0 program. Results: Male students were found to hold more conservative views on marriage compared to female students (B= -8.967). Additionally, individuals who placed greater emphasis on internal factors when selecting a spouse tended to have more conservative marriage views (B=.576). The explanatory power of this model was 27% (F=1.62, p=.016). Regarding the criteria for spouse selection, it was found that female students (B=4.877) and individuals with more conservative marriage views (B=.128) considered a broader range of factors. The explanatory power of this model was 24% (F=2.08, p=.001). Conclusion: This study provides valuable data that can inform policy and cultural strategies to address societal challenges such as declining marriage and birth rates by highlighting shifts in marriage views and spouse-selection preferences.
