이 연구는 초등 예비교사교육자가 인식한 운동장의 구조와 의미를 탐색하는 데 목적이 있다. 자료는 연구자의 운동장 일지와 자극 회상질문지를 활용하였고, 귀납적 범주분석의 방법으로 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 운동장의 구조와 의미는 몸이 공간을 의미화하는 장소이다. 운동장은 신체적 경험을 통한 공간, 사회적⋅문화적 맥락에서의 공간, 심리학적 측면의 공간으로 분류되었다. 둘째, 운동장의 구조와 의미는 규칙과 경계를 의미하는 기호 체계이다. 운동장은 경계의 공간, 역할 수행, 규칙의 공유로 분류되었다. 셋째, 운동장의 구조와 의미는 공동행위 속에서 구현되는 관계적 공간이다. 운동장은 기본 운동기능의 발휘, 전략을 통한 공간의 확장, 팀워크의 공간으로 분류되었다. 논의에서는 경험적⋅체현적 현상 공간, 규칙과 기호가 질서를 만드는 공간, 그리고 행위와 관계가 실시간으로 재구성되는 실천적 공간을 선행 연구와의 관계 속에서 분석하고 해석하였다.
The playground is a place where the body signifies space. Its structure and meaning are a system of symbols that signify rules and boundaries, and it is relational in that these factors are realized through communal actions. This study explored pre-service elementary school teachers’ perceptions of the structure and meaning of these spaces. Data were collected from the researcher’s playground diary and the use of a stimulus recall questionnaire and analyzed using inductive category analysis. Pre-service teachers described the playground as a space through physical experience, social and cultural contexts, and in terms of psychological aspects. They also understood it as a space of boundaries, role performance, and shared rules. Finally, it was categorized as a space for children to exercise basic motor skills, use strategy, and engage in teamwork. These various understandings and meanings were reconstructed in real time in relation to previous research.
