This study is intented to discuss senior volunteering from the perspective of the educational gerontology instead of public welfare. From the perspective of the welfare, senior volunteering has two meanings as follows. Firstly, senior volunteering provides seniors with a way of spending their leisure time meaningfully and valuably. Secondly, it gives seniors a chance to participate in and contribute to the community where they belong. From the perspective of educational gerontology, senior volunteering has additionally three meanings. It can be considered as an education by older adults, so that the clients change their perspectives, attitudes and knowledges. It is also an education for older adults to actualize senior volunteers\' own potentials. At the same time, by an education through the community of generations, senior volunteering helps various age groups to interact each other.
