The Philippines is currently struggling with various challenges, including unresolved armed conflicts. Some responses have been initiated by both government and civil society and among these are peace education initiatives. This paper holds the view that peace education is an important strategy towards preventing the escalation of violent conflict and building long-term peaceable values and institutions.
