본 연구는 어머니의 완벽주의가 아동의 완벽주의와 목표지향성에 어떤 관계를 맺는지 확인 하기 위한 것이다. 이를 위해 서울 지역 초등학생 5, 6학년과 그 어머니 총 1,076명을 대상 으로 어머니와 아동에게 모두 완벽주의 척도(Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale; MPS)를 사용 하고 아동에게는 목표지향성 척도(Elliot & Church, 1997)를 사용하여 이들 간의 관계를 조사 하였으며 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 어머니의 자기지향완벽주의는 아동의 자기지향완벽 주의를 통해 아동의 학습목표와 수행접근목표에 정적관계를 보였고, 아동의 사회부과완벽주 의를 통해서는 아동의 학습목표에 부적관계를, 수행접근목표와 수행회피목표에는 정적관계 를 보였다. 반면, 어머니의 자기지향완벽주의는 아동의 타인지향완벽주의에 정적관계를 보 이나 아동의 목표지향성에는 유의미한 관계를 보이지 않았다. 둘째, 어머니의 타인지향완벽 주의는 아동의 타인지향완벽주의를 통해 아동의 수행회피목표에 부적 관계를 나타냈다. 셋 째, 어머니의 사회부과완벽주의는 아동의 완벽주의와 목표지향성에 유의미한 관계를 나타내 지 않았다.
This study was designed to verify the relationship between a mother\'s perfectionism, the child\'s perfectionism and their goal orientation. For the purposes of this research, 1076 5th and 6th graders and their mothers were surveyed using Hewitt\'s Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale and Goal Orientation Scale(Elliot & Church, 1997). The results of the study were as follows. First, the self-oriented perfectionism of mothers was observed to have a significant influence on the child\'s learning goal and performance -approach goal through his/her self-oriented perfectionism, a significant negative influence on the child\'s learning goal through his/her socially prescribed perfectionism, and a significant influence on performance -avoidance goal and performance-approach goal. While the self-oriented perfectionism of mothers had a significant influence on the child\'s other-oriented perfectionism, no significant influence on the child\'s goal orientation was found. Second, the other-oriented perfectionism of the mothers had a significant negative influence on the child\'s performance-avoidance goal through his/her other-oriented perfectionism. Third, socially prescribed perfectionism of the mothers in this study had hardly any influence, either on the child\'s perfectionism or on goal orientation.
