본 연구는 보육교사의 신분보장 및 처우 개선에 대한 기초 자료를 제공하기 위하여 예비 보육교사들이 인식한 보육교사직의 기대는 어떠한지, 그리고 성공한 직업인에 대 한 인식과 직업포부, 실현가능성 등에 대한 조사를 수행하였다. 서울과 경기 지역에 위 치한 보육교사 교육원, 2년제 대학 및 4년제 대학교의 예비보육교사 182명을 대상으로 한 연구 결과, 보육교사직에 대한 예비교사들의 기대는 긍정적이었으나 예비보육교사들 의 처우에 대한 기대와 현실적인 처우에서는 차이가 있었으며, 성공한 지식인, 직업포 부, 그리고 실현 가능성에 대하여 조사한 결과, 미래 직업으로서의 보육교사에 대한 직 업 포부는 긍정적이라는 사실을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 보육교사의 전문성 제고 및 처우개선을 위하여 먼저, 보육교사의 처우 개선과 보육교사에 대한 사 회적인 인식의 제고를 위한 노력, 그리고 보육교사에서 시작하여 보육시설 시설장으로 일관되게 승진하고 발전할 수 있도록 보육교원 제도의 확립 모색 등이 제언되었다.
This study has a purpose to study on the perspectives for the child care and education teacher and vocational aspiration perceived by senior students. For the study, 182 senior students who study at academy for child care and education teacher, 2-year college and 4-year university were surveyed. The results are as follows. First, the job expectation of the senior is higher than the real job condition of the teacher. Second, the vocational aspiration of student was very high and students wants to develop their career as the teacher continuously. Third, for making more students want to be a teacher, it is suggested that the job condition should be improved speedily. Based on those results, the suggestions is as follows. First, the policy to improve the benefit for the teacher of child care and education should be tried out. Second, the support system in which the teacher would develop their professionalism should be built up. Third, the government should make people recognize how important the child care and education teacher is and set up a new system to respect the professionalism of the child care and education teacher.
