Response of Bentgrass Cultivars to Microdochium nivale Isolates Collected from Golf Courses
한국식물병리학회 The Plant Pathology Journal 10 Pages
한국식물병리학회 The Plant Pathology Journal 2011, 27권 3호 4 232-241 (10 pages)
Pink snow mold, caused by Microdochium nivale, is a major disease on cool season turfgrasses in golf courses in northern Unites States. The relative susceptibility of 17 commercial cultivars of three bentgrass species (creeping, colonial and velvet bentgrass) to Microdochium nivale and the aggressiveness of M. nivale eight isolates obtained from infected turfgrasses on golf courses in Wisconsin were evaluated under controlled conditions. For the field trial, susceptibility of 2 year-old 12... -
Potential Roles of Essential Oils on Controlling Plant Pathogenic Bacteria Xanthomonas Species: A Review

productivity and quality of harvests. Despite the ranges of controlling techniques available, the microbiological safety of economically important crops and crop plants including fruits and vegetables continues to be a major concern to the agriculture industry. On the other hand, many of the currently available antimicrobial agents for agriculture are highly toxic, non-biodegradable and cause extended environmental pollution. Besides, the use of antibiotics has provoked an increased resistance... -
Antimicrobial and Antioxidant Properties of Secondary Metabolites from White Rose Flower

and in the defense against environmental stresses or pathogens. In the present study, we isolated various volatiles and phenolic compounds from white Rosa rugosa flowers, and evaluated the pharmaceutical activities of these natural products in addition to their ability to increase survival in response to environmental stress and pathogen invasion. The DPPH and hydroxyl radical-mediated oxidation assay revealed that the white rose flower extract (WRFE) strongly scavenged free radicals in a dose... -
Influences of Singing on Levels of Immunoglobulin A and Cortisol by Foreigners

다문화건강학회 다문화건강학회지 2017, 제 7권 2호 4 35-45 (11 pages)
The purpose of this study was to investigate whether singing folk songs is associated by changes in levels of immunoglobulin A(IgA) and cortisol among foreigners living in Korea. The number of migrant workers and foreign students has increased rapidly since the end of the 20th century. Korea is naturally turning into a multicultural society. The foreigners’ life in Korea must be very stressful because of many reasons including culture and language differences. In a naturalistic before-after... -
Synthesis and characterization of carbon doped TiO₂ photocatalysts supported on stainless steel mesh by sol-gel method

a sol-gel solution of 8% polyacrylonitrile (PAN)/dimethylformamide (DMF)/TiCl₄. The influence of the pyrolysis temperature and holding time on the morphological characteristics, particle sizes and surface area of the prepared catalyst was investigated. The prepared catalysts were characterized by several analytical methods: high resolution scanning electron microscopy (HRSEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET), and X-ray photoelectron... -
EMI shielding effectiveness and mechanical properties of MWCNTs-reinforced biodegradable epoxy matrix composites
Yoon-Ji Yim, Dong Chul Chung, Soo-Jin Park 한국탄소학회 Carbon Letters 6 Pages
한국탄소학회 Carbon Letters 2017, Vol.22 4 36-41 (6 pages)
Biodegradable epoxy (B-epoxy) was prepared from diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A and epoxidized linseed oil. The mechanical properties of B-epoxy composites reinforced with multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs/B-epoxy) were examined by employing dynamic mechanical analysis, critical stress intensity factor (KIC) tests, and impact strength tests. The electromagnetic interference shielding effectiveness (EMI-SE) of the composites was evaluated using reflection and absorption methods. Mechanical... -
Study of complex electrodeposited thin film with multi-layer graphene-coated metal nanoparticles

measured the electric properties and performed corrosion testing of the CETF. Raman spectroscopy was used to measure the bonding characteristics and estimate the number of layers in the graphene films. The resistivity of the bare-electrodeposited copper thin film (BETF) was 2.092 × 10?6 Ω·cm, and the resistivity of the CETF after the addition of 300 ppm MGCNs was decreased by 2% to ~2.049 × 10?6 Ω·cm. The corrosion resistance of the BETF was 9.306 Ω, while that of the CETF was increased... -
Mechanical properties of epoxy composites reinforced with ammonia-treated graphene oxides
Mi-Seon Park, Sangmin Lee, Young-Seak Lee 한국탄소학회 Carbon Letters 7 Pages
한국탄소학회 Carbon Letters 2017, Vol.21 1 1-7 (7 pages)
The effects of ammonia-treated graphene oxide (GO) on composites based on epoxy resin were investigated. Ammonia solutions of different concentrations (14?28%) were used to modify GO. Nitrogen functional groups were introduced on the GO surfaces without significant structural changes. The ammonia-treated GO-based epoxy composites exhibited interesting changes in their mechanical properties related to the presence of nitrogen functional groups, particularly amine (C-NH2) groups on the GO... -

evaluation of its thermo-mechanical performance. Successful functionalization of GnP was confirmed via thermal and spectroscopic study. Raman spectroscopy indicated that the functionalization was on the edge of the graphene sheets; the basal plane was not perturbed as a result of the functionalization. The epoxy/functionalized GnP composite system exhibited an increase in flexural modulus (~18%) and glass transition temperature (~10°C) compared to an un-functionalized GnP based epoxy composite.
