Responses of Inferior Olive Neurons to Stimulation of Semicircular Canals
Sah-HoonPark, JongSeongPark, MinSuLee, JungWooShin 대한생리학회-대한약리학회 The Korean Journal of Physiology & Pharmacology 6 Pages

recording side. The gain and excitation phase were very similar to otolithic or vertical-canal responses. Histologic identification of recording sites showed that most of vestibular IO neurons were located in β subnucleus. Electrical stimulation of a HSC evoked an inhibitory effect on the excitability of the ipsilateral IO neurons. These results suggest that IO neurons mainly in the β subnucleus receive vestibular signals from semicircular canals and otolithic organs, encode them, and transmit... -
Morphological and Molecular Identification of Penicillium islandicum Isolate KU101 from Stored Rice
한국식물병리학회 The Plant Pathology Journal 5 Pages
한국식물병리학회 The Plant Pathology Journal 2008, 24권 4호 14 469-473 (5 pages)
34763, isolate KU101 was generally identical to those of isolate KCCM 34763, however, isolate KU101 grew faster and produced more orange to red pigments than isolate KCCM 34763. In a molecular-based identification, the nuclear sequence of the ITS1-5.8S-ITS2 region of isolate KU101 was most closely related to that of P. islandicum. Therefore, these results indicated that isolate KU101 from stored rice could be identified as P. islandicum, some isolates of which are known to produce mycotoxins. -
it may be mentioned that the tangible heritages have been well looked after in highly industrialized countries like Korea and Japan in East Asia. However. preservation of intangible heritage here needs some attention. National cultural identity inherent in ways of human life is represented by the tangible and the intangible elements that are subjected to change. However. the significance of the intangible heritage lies in the fact that it carry forward past to the present in a dynamic form.

Effect of carbonization temperature on crystalline structure and properties of isotropic pitch-based carbon fiber
Jung Dam Kim, Jae-Seung Roh, Myung-Soo Kim 한국탄소학회 Carbon Letters 10 Pages
한국탄소학회 Carbon Letters 2017, Vol.21 6 51-60 (10 pages)
Isotropic pitch-based fibers produced from coal tar pitch with the melt-blowing method were carbonized at temperatures ranging from 800 to 1600oC to investigate their crystalline structure and physical properties as a function of the carbonization temperature. The in-plane crystallite size (La) of the carbonized pitch fiber from X-ray diffraction increased monotonously by increasing the carbonization temperature resulting in a gradual increase in the electrical conductivity from 169 to 3800... -
Adsorption capability of activated carbon synthesized from coconut shell
Md Shariful Islam, Bee Chin Ang, Samira Gharehkhani, Amalina Binti, Muhammad Afifi 한국탄소학회 Carbon Letters 9 Pages
한국탄소학회 Carbon Letters 2016, Vol.20 1 1-9 (9 pages)
scanning electron microscopy image showed the presence of well-developed pores on the surface of the activated carbon. The presence of important functional groups was shown by the Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy spectrum. The adsorption of methyl orange onto the activated carbon reached 100% after 12 min. Kinetic analysis indicated that the adsorption of methyl orange solution by the activated carbon followed a pseudo-second-order kinetic mechanism (R2 > 0.995). Therefore, the results... -
Yield enhancement of matrix precursor in short carbon fiber reinforced randomly oriented carbon/carbon composite
Thakur Sudesh Kumar Raunija, Sharad Chandra Sharma, Anil Verma 한국탄소학회 Carbon Letters 9 Pages
한국탄소학회 Carbon Letters 2016, Vol.19 7 57-65 (9 pages)
for a duration of 5 h could withstand almost two-fold greater hot-pressing pressure without resulting in exudation as compared to that of a 1 h stabilized matrix precursor. The enhanced hot-pressing pressure significantly improved the yield of the matrix precursor. As a consequence, the densification and mechanical properties were increased significantly. Further, the matrix precursor stabilized for a duration of 20 h or more failed to provide proper and uniform binding of the reinforcement. -
Effect of fiber-matrix adhesion on the fracture behavior of a carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastic-modified epoxy matrix
H.J. Carrillo-Escalante, A. ?lvarez-Castillo, A. Valadez-Gonz?lez, P. J. Herrera-Franco 한국탄소학회 Carbon Letters 10 Pages
한국탄소학회 Carbon Letters 2016, Vol.19 6 47-56 (10 pages)
(3-glycidoxy propyl trimethoxysilane) coupling agent. Toughness was determined using the double cantilever test, together with surface analysis after failure using scanning electron microscope. The presence of polysulfone particles improved the fracture behavior of the composite, but fiber-matrix adhesion seemed to play a very important role in the performance of the composite material. There appeared to be a synergy between the matrix modifier and the fibermatrix adhesion coupling agent. -
Synthesis, characterization, and toxicity of multi-walled carbon nanotubes functionalized with 4-hydroxyquinazoline
Hasan Tahermansouri, Atieh Mirosanloo, Saeed Heidari Keshel, Mossa Gardaneh 한국탄소학회 Carbon Letters 8 Pages
한국탄소학회 Carbon Letters 2016, Vol.17 No.1 7 45-52 (8 pages)
The attachment of 2-aminobenzamide to carboxylated multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs)- COOH was achieved through the formation of amide bonds. Then, the functionalized MWCNTs, MWCNT-amide, were treated by phosphoryl chloride to produce MWCNT-quin. The products were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, derivative thermogravimetric, steady-state fluorescence spectroscopy, and solubility testing.... -
Influence of defective sites in Pt/C catalysts on the anode of direct methanol fuel cell and their role in CO poisoning: a first-principles study
Soonchul Kwon, Seung Geol Lee 한국탄소학회 Carbon Letters 5 Pages
한국탄소학회 Carbon Letters 2015, Vol.16 No.3 6 198-202 (5 pages)
defect adsorption sites on the anode of direct methanol fuel cells were investigated, to elucidate the mechanisms of H2 dissociation and carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning. Density functional theory calculations were carried out to determine the effect of defect sites located neighboring to or distant from the Pt catalyst on H2 and CO adsorption properties, based on electronic properties such as adsorption energy and electronic band gap. Interestingly, the presence of neighboring defect sites led to... -
Influence of hot-pressing pressure on the densification of short-carbon-fiber-reinforced, randomly oriented carbon/carbon composite
Thakur Sudesh Kumar Raunija and Sharad Chandra Sharma 한국탄소학회 Carbon Letters 9 Pages
한국탄소학회 Carbon Letters 2015, Vol.16 No.1 4 25-33 (9 pages)
of the impregnation cycles was determined using measurements of microstructure and density. The results showed that effective densification strongly depended on the hot-pressing pressure and reinforcement wt%. Furthermore, results showed that compacts processed at lower hot-pressing pressure, and at higher reinforcement wt%, gained density gradually during three densification cycles and showed the symptoms of further gains with additional densification cycles. In contrast, samples that were...
