Yawon Hwang, Dongwook Kim, Dongwoo Chang, Byeongwoo Ahn, Yun-Bae Kim, Gonhyung Kim 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 4 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2017, 제 18권 제 2호 17 257-260 (4 pages)
This is the first case report to describe the tumor regressive effect of systemic human neural stem cell (NSC)/5-fluorocytosine (5-FC) therapy on canine metastatic lung tumor. The therapeutic effects appeared approximately two weeks after 5-FC administration. Thoracic radiographs revealed a reduced number of lung nodules and decreased nodule size. However, there were no significant antitumor effects on primary lesions in abdominal organs. In conclusion, human NSC/5-FC prodrug therapy can secure... -
Estrogen receptor-α, progesterone receptor, and c-erbB/HER-family receptor mRNA detection and phenotype analysis in spontaneous canine models of breast cancer
Farruk M. Lutful Kabir, Patricia DeInnocentes, Payal Agarwal, Christopher P. Mill, David J. Riese 2nd, R. Curtis Bird 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 10 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2017, 제 18권 제 2호 4 149-158 (10 pages)
Well characterized, stable, p16-defective canine mammary cancer (CMT) cell lines and normal canine mammary epithelial cells were used to investigate expression of the major breast cancer-specific hormone receptors estrogen receptor alpha (ER1) and progesterone receptor (PR) as well as luminal epithelial-specific proto-oncogenes encoding c-erbB-1 (epidermal growth factor receptor/EGFr), c-erbB-2/HER2, c-erbB-3, and c-erbB-4 receptors. The investigation developed and validated quantitative reverse... -
Inhibition by miR-410 facilitates direct retinal pigment epithelium differentiation of umbilical cord blood-derived mesenchymal stem cells
Soon Won Choi, Jae-Jun Kim, Min-Soo Seo, Sang-Bum Park, Tae-Hoon Shin, Ji-Hee Shin, Yoojin Seo, Hyung-Sik Kim, Kyung-Sun Kang 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 7 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2017, 제 18권 제 1호 8 59-65 (7 pages)
Retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) is a major component of the eye. This highly specialized cell type facilitates maintenance of the visual system. Because RPE loss induces an irreversible visual impairment, RPE generation techniques have recently been investigated as a potential therapeutic approach to RPE degeneration. A microRNA-based technique is a new strategy for producing RPE cells from adult stem cell sources. Previously, we identified that antisense microRNA-410 (anti-miR-410) induces RPE... -
Inflammation affects the viability and plasticity of equine mesenchymal stem cells: possible implications in intra-articular treatments
Laura Barrachina, Ana Rosa Remacha, Antonio Romero, Francisco Jos? V?zquez, Jorge Albareda, Marta Prades, Beatriz Ranera, Pilar 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 11 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2017, 제 18권 제 1호 6 39-49 (11 pages)
Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are gaining relevance for treating equine joint injuries because of their ability to limit inflammation and stimulate regeneration. Because inflammation activates MSC immunoregulatory function, proinflammatory priming could improve MSC efficacy. However, inflammatory molecules present in synovial fluid or added to the culture medium might have deleterious effects on MSCs. Therefore, this study was conducted to investigate the effects of inflammatory synovial fluid... -
Canine adipose tissue-derived mesenchymal stem cells ameliorate severe acute pancreatitis by regulating T cells in rats
Hyun-Wook Kim, Woo-Jin Song, Qiang Li, Sei-Myoung Han, Kee-Ok Jeon, Sang-Chul Park, Min-Ok Ryu, Hyung-Kyu Chae, Kweon Kyeong, Hw 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 10 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2016, 제 17권 제 4호 13 539-548 (10 pages)
Severe acute pancreatitis (SAP) is associated with systemic complications and high mortality rate in dogs. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have been investigated for their therapeutic potential in several inflammation models. In the present study, the effects of canine adipose tissue-derived (cAT)-MSCs in a rat model of SAP induced by retrograde injection of 3% sodium taurocholate solution into the pancreatic duct were investigated. cAT-MSCs labeled with... -
Correlation between caudal pulmonary artery diameter to body surface area ratio and echocardiography-estimated systolic pulmonary arterial pressure in dogs
Youngjae Lee, Wooshin Choi, Donghoon Lee, Jinhwa Chang, Ji-Houn Kang, Jihye Choi, Dongwoo Chang 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 9 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2016, 제 17권 제 2호 14 243-251 (9 pages)
Caudal pulmonary artery diameter (CPAD) to body surface area (BSA) ratios were measured in ventrodorsal thoracic radiographs to assess the correlation between CPAD to BSA ratios and systolic pulmonary arterial pressure (PAP) in dogs. Thoracic radiographs of 44 dogs with systolic pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) and 55 normal dogs were evaluated. Systolic PAP was estimated by Doppler echocardiography. CPADs were measured at their largest point at the level of tracheal bifurcation on... -

Bratislav Dejanovic, Ivana Stevanovic, Milica Ninkovic, Ivana Stojanovic, Irena Lavrnja, Tatjana Radicevic, Milos Pavlovic 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 9 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2016, 제 17권 제 1호 7 53-61 (9 pages)
This study was conducted to investigate whether agmatine (AGM) provides protection against oxidative stress induced by treatment with chlorpromazine (CPZ) in Wistar rats. In addition, the role of reactive oxygen species and efficiency of antioxidant protection in the brain homogenates of forebrain cortexes prepared 48 h after treatment were investigated. Chlorpromazine was applied intraperitoneally (i.p.) in single dose of 38.7 mg/kg body weight (BW) The second group was treated with both CPZ... -
Time-course changes in the expression levels of miR-122, -155, and -21 as markers of liver cell damage, inflammation, and regeneration in acetaminophen-induced liver injury in rats
Hyun-Kyu Park, Woori Jo, Hyun-Ji Choi, Sungwoong Jang, Jae-Eun Ryu, Hyo-Ju Lee, Hyojin Lee, Hyejin Kim, Eun-Sil Yu, Woo-Chan Son 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 7 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2016, 제 17권 제 1호 6 45-51 (7 pages)
Drug-induced liver injury (DILI) is a significant threat to patient health and a major concern during drug development. Recently, multiple circulating microRNAs (miRNAs) have been reported to be potential biomarkers for DILI. To adapt and validate miRNAs for clinical use, we investigated the time-course changes in miR-122 expression levels in an acetaminophen-induced liver injury model in rats. In addition, miR-155 and miR-21 were evaluated as makers of inflammation and regeneration,... -
The potential role of COX-2 in cancer stem cell-mediated canine mammary tumor initiation: an immunohistochemical study
Jian Huang, Di Zhang, Fuqiang Xie, Degui Lin 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 7 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2015, 제 16권 제 2호 13 225-231 (7 pages)
Increasing evidence suggests that cancer stem cells (CSCs) are responsible for tumor initiation and maintenance. Additionally, it is becoming apparent that cyclooxygenase (COX) signaling is associated with canine mammary tumor development. The goals of the present study were to investigate COX-2 expression patterns and their effect on CSC-mediated tumor initiation in primary canine mammary tissues and tumorsphere models using immunohistochemistry. Patterns of COX-2, CD44, octamer-binding... -
Anti-melanogenic effects of black, green, and white tea extracts on immortalized melanocytes
Young Chul Kim, So Young Choi, Eun Ye Park 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 9 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2015, 제 16권 제 2호 1 135-143 (9 pages)
Tea contains polyphenols and is one of the most popular beverages consumed worldwide. Because most tyrosinase inhibitors that regulate melanogenesis are phenol/catechol derivatives, this study investigated the inhibitory effects of Camellia sinensis water extracts (CSWEs), including black tea, green tea, and white tea extracts, on melanogenesis using immortalized melanocytes. CSWEs inhibited melanin accumulation and melanin synthesis along with tyrosinase activity in a concentration-dependent...
