Examining the Predictors of Naming Speed among Thai Preschoolers: Confirming the Important Roles of Visual Perception and Sustained Attention
Watthanaree Ammawat, Apichaya Boonsirirot, Sorasak Suwan, Patcharika Srijan, Attapol Attanak, Pattrawadee Makmee, Wanvipha Hongnaphadol 환태평양유아교육연구학회 Asia-Pacific journal of research in early childhood education 21 Pages
환태평양유아교육연구학회 Asia-Pacific journal of research in early childhood education 2022, Vol.16 No.2 5 93-113 (21 pages)
revealed a strong association among sustained attention, visual perception, intelligence, and naming speed. Sustained attention and visual perception were found to be strongly associated with rapid naming ability. There was a relationship between intelligence and attention. However, intelligence did not appear to be associated with naming speed. Sustained attention and general visual perception were shown to predict the speed of color naming up to 12.2% (Adjust R2 = .12, p < .05) and the speed... -

Alison M-C. Li, Janet S. Gaffney, Adrienne N Sansom, P. W. Doris Cheng 환태평양유아교육연구학회 Asia-Pacific journal of research in early childhood education 24 Pages
환태평양유아교육연구학회 Asia-Pacific journal of research in early childhood education 2021, Vol.15 No.1 3 29-52 (24 pages)
Stories in children’s daily lives reflect collective meaning-making and knowledge creation with educators, children, and families. The stories sparked during these collective journeys unveil their shared early childhood experiences (Engel, 2005) and inherited cultural wisdom across generations. Education for sustainable development (ESD) has drawn global interest within the field of early childhood education. UNESCO (2005) defined ESD as a weaving of social, environmental, and economical... -

Jieun Choi 환태평양유아교육연구학회 Asia-Pacific journal of research in early childhood education 19 Pages
환태평양유아교육연구학회 Asia-Pacific journal of research in early childhood education 2020, Vol.14 No.1 7 149-167 (19 pages)
In order to understand the mother-child relationship, care is important. Caring acts can be actualized when two subjects—the cared-for and the one-caring—interact. To contribute to understanding the ways in which caring actions can be identified by both child and mother during their play activities, this qualitative study examines Korean mother-child play interactions from a critical perspective through the basis on the typology of caring acts (Korth, 2003). For this purpose, two... -
