Characterization of Antigenic Sites on the Rinderpest Virus N Protein Using Monoclonal Antibodies
Kang-seuk Choi, Jin-ju Nah, Young-joon Ko, Cheong-up Choi, Jae-hong Kim, Shien-young Kang, Yi-seok Joo 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 9 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2003, 제 4권 제 1호 9 57-65 (9 pages)
RPV N protein after exposure to 0.2% SDS exhibited higher ELISA titers in all Mabs recognizing 6 sites. Four sites (A, B, E and F) on 2% SDS-treated N protein lost completely reactivity with Mabs while the remaining sites (C and D) on the protein retained their antigenicity to some degree. It indicates that two sites (C and D) were sequential. Six representative Mabs bound to each site exhibited competition with rinderpest antibodies in a blocking ELISA, indicating that the sites were actively... -
Effects of Tributyltin Chloride on the Reproductive System in Pubertal Male Rats
Wook-joon Yu, Sang-yoon Nam, Young-chul Kim, Beom-jun Lee, Young-won Yun 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 6 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2003, 제 4권 제 1호 5 29-34 (6 pages)
Detrimental effects of tributyltin (TBT) chloride on the reproductive system were investigated in pubertal male rats. Sixty Sprague-Dawley rats aged with 35 days were assigned to six different groups; negative control receiving vehicle, positive control receiving methyltestosterone (10 mg/kg B.W.), TBT chloride (5 mg/kg B.W., 10 mg/kg B.W., and 20 mg/kg B.W.), and a combination of TBT chloride (10 mg/kg B.W.) and flutamide (10 mg/kg B.W). The animals were treated with test compounds by oral... -
Topology of Scavenger Receptor Class B Type I (SR-BI) on Brush Border Membrane
Chang-Hoon Han and Mun-Han Lee 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 8 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2002, 제 3권 제 4호 3 265-272 (8 pages)
Both hydropathy plot and in vitro translation results predict the topology of SR-BI; the receptor is an integral membrane protein of 509 amino acids, consisting of a short cytoplasmic N-terminus of 9 amino acids followed by a first transmembrane domain of 22 amino acids, the extracellular domain of 408 amino acids, the second transmembrane domain of 22 amino acids, and the cytoplasmic C-terminus of 47 amino acids. The immunoblot of rBBMV in the presence or absence of pAb589 peptide antigen (the... -
Effects of Benzo[a]pyrene, 2-Bromopropane, Phenol and 2,3,7,8-Tetrachlorodibenzo-p-Dioxin on Proinflammatory Cytokines Gene Expression by Mice Spleen Cells
Ho-Jun Kim, Bit-Na Kang, Sung-Whan Cho, Hwa-Young Son, Kyu-Shik Jeong, Sang-Joon Park, Sung-Ho Kim, Se-Ra Kim, Tae-Hwan Kim, Mi- 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 8 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2002, 제 3권 제 4호 1 247-254 (8 pages)
The detrimental effects of environmental pollutants on the health of the individual are generally accepted, although the mechanisms of these effects remain to be incompletely understood. In the present study, we examined the effects of B[a]P, 2-BP, phenol and TCDD on proinflammatory cytokine gene expression in mice spleen cells which were stimulated with anti-CD3. 10(-9)M TCDD increased IFNgamma and TNFalpha gene expression, but suppressed IL-1 gene expression. 10(-6)M phenol inhibited IL-1,... -
Additive Estrogenic Activities of the Binary Mixtures of Four Estrogenic Chemicals in Recombinant Yeast Expressing Human Estrogen Receptor
Yong Soon Lee, Kyung Sun Kang, Sung Dae Cho 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 5 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2002, 제 3권 제 1호 1 1-5 (5 pages)
To evaluate the estrogenic activities of several chemicals such as 17beta-estradiol (E2), rho-nonylphenol, bisphenol A, butylparaben, and combinations of these chemicals, we used recombinant yeasts containing the human estrogen receptor [Saccharomyces cerevisiae ER + LYS 8127]. We evaluated E2 was most active in the recombinant yeast assay, followed by rho-nonylphenol, bisphenol A, butylparaben. The combinations of some concentrations of 17-estradiol as a strong estrogen and bisphenol A or... -

대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2001, 제 2권 제 2호 5 97-101 (5 pages)
Two hundred and fifty beef samples were collected from five slaughterhouses in and around the city of Nairobi. The beef animals were sourced from various parts of the country. Samples of 50-100 grams were collected randomly from the liver, kidney and muscle of different beef carcasses. The samples collected were processed using multiresidue analytical methods that included liquid-gas partitioning and set-pat C18 cartridges chromatographic clean up. Chlortetracycline and oxytetracycline detection... -
Detection of canine distemper virus (CDV) through one step RT-PCR combined with nested PCR
Yong-Hwan Kim, Kyu-Woan Cho, Hwa-Young Youn, Han Sang Yoo, Hong-Ryul Han 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 5 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2001, 제 2권 제 1호 10 59-63 (5 pages)
A one step reverse transcription PCR (RT-PCR) combined nested PCR was set up to increase efficiency in the diagnosis of canine distemper virus (CDV) infection after developement of nested PCR. Two PCR primer sets were designed based on the sequence of nucleocapsid gene of CDV Onderstepoort strain. One-step RT-PCR with the outer primer pair was revealed to detect 10(2) PFU/ml. The sensitivity was increased hundredfold using the one-step RT-PCR combined with the nested PCR. Specificity of the PCR... -
Study on mechanism of multistep hepatotumorigenesis in rat: development of hepatotumorigenesis
Woo-song Ha, Chi-kyeong Kim, Seung-hee Song, Chung-boo Kang 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 6 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2001, 제 2권 제 1호 9 53-58 (6 pages)
With the aim of establishing bio-indices for the development of multistep hepatotumorigenesis, rats were fed water containing 0.01% diethylnitrosamine (DEN) ad libitum for 13 weeks. This treatment with DEN only made it possible to induce hepatic tumors in 100%. After the DEN administration, several clinical symptoms were observed including minor behavioral changes, brittleness of hair and a decrease in water and food intake. The concentration of total serum protein and albumin in all treated... -

gavage for 4 weeks. In adult rats, the treatment of EGEE at the dose of 400 mg/kg of body weight decreased significantly the populations of haploid, while it increased those of diploid and tetraploid cells. In pubertal rats, the treatment of EGEE at the dose of 400 mg/kg of body weight caused only minimal changes in the relative percent of testicular cell types. These results suggest that the effects of EGEE on testicular function in pubertal rats appear to be less pronounced than in adult rats. -
Teratological effect of 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin (TCDD): induction of cleft palate in the ddY and C57BL/6 mouse
Byung-Il Yoon, Tohru Inoue, Toyozo Kaneko 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 7 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2000, 제 1권 제 2호 8 113-119 (7 pages)
2,3,7,8-Tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin (TCDD), a highly toxic halogenated aromatic hydrocarbon, is a teratogen to induce cleft palate when exposed during the pregnancy. There are inter-strain differences in the sensitivity to cleft palate induced by TCDD and other chemicals including polychlorinated terphenyls (PCTs). The C57BL/6 mouse and the ddY mouse had been shown to be different in the induction of cleft palate following the treatment of PCTs, which attempts us to evaluate the TCDD-induced...
