Anti-inflammatory effects of low-level laser in burn wound models in rats
Eun-Jeong Kim, Se-Hun Kim 물리치료재활과학회 Physical Therapy Rehabilitation Science 6 Pages
물리치료재활과학회 Physical Therapy Rehabilitation Science 2017, 제 6권 제 4호 3 170-175 (6 pages)
Objective: The anti-inflammatory effects of low-level laser in burn wound model in rats were investigated. Design: Randomized controlled trial. Methods: The rats were assigned to three experimental groups. Group I received second-degree burn wounds; Group II received dressing film and low-level laser (1.2 J/cm2) treatment after a burn wound; Group III received dressing film and low-level laser (2.3 J/cm2) treatment after a burn wound. After inducing a deep second-degree burn wound, the wound was... -
Comparison of the effects of isoflurane versus propofolremifentanil anesthesia on oxygen delivery during thoracoscopic lung lobectomy with one-lung ventilation in dogs
Jiyoung Park, Hae-Beom Lee, Seong Mok Jeong 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 8 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2018, 제 19권 제 3호 12 426-433 (8 pages)
This study compared effects of isoflurane inhalation (ISO) and propofol-remifentanil combined total intravenous anesthesia (TIVA) on oxygenation during thoracoscopic lung lobectomy with 30-min one-lung ventilation (1LV). Thoracoscopic right middle lung lobectomy was performed in ten dogs divided into ISO and TIVA groups, and cardiopulmonary parameters were measured with blood gas analysis. Throughout the study, isoflurane was inhaled up to 1.5%, and the infusion rates of propofol and... -
Gintonin, an exogenous ginseng-derived LPA receptor ligand, promotes corneal wound healing

Ginseng gintonin is an exogenous ligand of lysophosphatidic acid (LPA) receptors. Accumulating evidence shows LPA helps in rapid recovery of corneal damage. The aim of this study was to evaluate the therapeutic efficacy of gintonin in a rabbit model of corneal damage. We investigated the signal transduction pathway of gintonin in human corneal epithelium (HCE) cells to elucidate the underlying molecular mechanism. We next evaluated the therapeutic effects of gintonin, using a rabbit model of... -
Pathology of non-thermal irreversible electroporation (N-TIRE)-induced ablation of the canine brain
John H. Rossmeisl Jr., Paulo A. Garcia, John L. Roberston, Thomas L. Ellis, Rafael V. Davalos 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 8 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2013, 제 14권 제 4호 9 433-440 (8 pages)
This study describes the neuropathologic features of normal canine brain ablated with non-thermal irreversible electroporation (N-TIRE). The parietal cerebral cortices of four dogs were treated with N-TIRE using a dose-escalation protocol with an additional dog receiving sham treatment. Animals were allowed to recover following N-TIRE ablation and the effects of treatment were monitored with clinical and magnetic resonance imaging examinations. Brains were subjected to histopathologic and... -
Surgical treatment for different forms of hernias in sheep and goats
Fahd A. Al-Sobayil, Ahmed F. Ahmed 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 7 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2007, 제 8권 제 2호 14 185-191 (7 pages)
Sheep and goats are frequently presented with different forms of hernias to veterinary clinics. The aim of this study is to investigate the outcome of the surgical treatment of abdominal, umbilical, inguinal and scrotal hernias in sheep and goats. Fifty-eight clinical cases (sheep = 44, goat = 14) were presented to the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, Qassim University, Saudi Arabia from September, 2003 to September, 2006. These animals had abdominal... -

Miho Hiraoka, Toshiharu Miyagawa, Hayato Kobayashi, Toshihiko Takahashi, Hiroaki Kishi, Hiroshi Kobayashi, Inhyung Lee 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 4 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2007, 제 8권 제 2호 13 181-184 (4 pages)
This study describes the successful use of modified dorsolumbar epidural anesthesia with a fixed volume of anesthetic in a bovine referral center. Among the 130 Holstein cattle scheduled for flank surgery, 90 cattle received a mixed anesthetic consisting of 1 ml of xylazine hydrochloride and 3 ml of lidocaine hydrochloride by modified dorsolumbar epidural anesthesia. Eighteen cattle with dehydration and/or lameness received a mixed anesthetic containing 0.5 ml of xylazine and 3 ml of lidocaine.... -
Effect of intratesticular injection of xylazine/ketamine combination on canine castration
Joon-ki Kim, Seong-mok Jeong, Na-Young Yi, Man-Bok Jeong, Eun-song Lee, Tchi-chou Nam, Kang-moon Seo 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 5 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2004, 제 5권 제 2호 10 151-155 (5 pages)
This study was performed to compare the effect of intratesticular (IT) injection of xylazine/ketamine combination for canine castration with those of intramuscular (IM) or intravenous (IV) injection. Xylazine and ketamine was administered simultaneously via intratesticularly (IT group), intramuscularly (IM group) or intravenously (IV group) at doses of 2 and 10 mg/kg, respectively. Pain response at the time of injection, mean induction time, mean arousal time, mean walking time and... -

Inhyung Lee, Tomo Yoshiuchi, Norio Yamagishi, Kenji Oboshi, Yu Ayukawa, Naoki Sasaki, Haruo Yamada 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 4 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2003, 제 4권 제 3호 10 261-264 (4 pages)
This study was performed to clarify the analgesic effect of ketamine injected into the first intercoccygeal (Co1- Co2) epidural space in standing cattle. Five adult cows were randomly received 3 treatments at least 1 week interval: 5, 10 and 20 mL of 5% ketamine. Sedation, analgesia, ataxia and other effects on cardiopulmonary and rumen functions were assessed before ketamine administration and until 120 min. The analgesia without sedation was shown at tail and perineum about 5 min after all... -

of isoflurane. In the cardiovascular system, the ST-36 group did not induce any significant change in cardiovascular parameters. In the TH-8 group, the mean and diastolic arterial pressure and the systemic vascular resistance were decreased. In the LI-4 group, cardiac output and cardiac index decreased after EA. These results indicate that EA at LI-4, SP-6 and ST-36 have advantages in isoflurane anesthesia in terms of reducing the dose of anesthetics and minimizing cardiovascular side effects. -
