Changes of spatio-temporal gait parameters according to experience falls in post-stroke patients
Ki Hun Cho, Wan Hee Lee 물리치료재활과학회 Physical Therapy Rehabilitation Science 6 Pages
물리치료재활과학회 Physical Therapy Rehabilitation Science 2012, 제 1권 제 1호 5 22-27 (6 pages)
Results: The spatial gait parameters and the temporal gait parameters were significantly different between the stroke with falls group and the stroke without falls group (p<0.05). Furthermore, step length was the only significantly different among symmetry ratio (p<0.05). Conclusions: Experience of falls can lead to impairment of gait ability in stroke patients. This result is expected to be used as a basic data for rehabilitation program development to prevent a fall of post-stroke patients. -
The effects of dual-task training on ambulatory abilities of stroke patients
Gyu Chang Lee, Won Jae Choi 물리치료재활과학회 Physical Therapy Rehabilitation Science 5 Pages
물리치료재활과학회 Physical Therapy Rehabilitation Science 2012, 제 1권 제 1호 1 1-5 (5 pages)
Objective: Dual-task walking deficits impact functional daily life, which often requires walking while performing simultaneous tasks such as talking, thinking or carrying an object. This study is to find out the latest trend of dual-task training’s influence on ambulatory abilities of a stroke patient. Design: Systematic review of randomized controlled trials. Methods: This literature review was conducted in Pubmed and Sciencedirect with the follwing key words:stroke, cerebro-vascular accident,... -
Phenotypic and genotypic analyses of an attenuated porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus strain after serial passages in cultured porcine alveolar macrophages

The porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) is a globally ubiquitous swine viral pathogen that causes major economic losses worldwide. We previously reported an over-attenuated phenotype of cell-adapted PRRSV strain CA-2-P100 in vivo. In the present study, CA-2-P100 was serially propagated in cultured porcine alveolar macrophage (PAM) cells for up to 20 passages to obtain the derivative strain CA-2-MP120. Animal inoculation studies revealed that both CA-2-P100 and CA-2-MP120... -
Piglet colibacillosis diagnosis based on multiplex polymerase chain reaction and immunohistochemistry of paraffin-embedded tissues

Enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli (ETEC) causes diarrhea in pigs, referred to as colibacillosis. The aim of this study was to optimize multiplex polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) analyses of paraffin-embedded material to detect pathogenic E. coli strains causing colibacillosis in pigs. Multiplex PCR was optimized for fimbriae (F18, F4, F6, F5, and F41) and toxins (types A and B heat-stable toxins [STaP and STb], heat-labile toxin [LT], and type 2 Shiga toxin [STx2e]),... -
Immunogenicity of recombinant Lactobacillus plantarum NC8 expressing goose parvovirus VP2 gene in BALB/c mice
Yu-Ying Liu, Wen-Tao Yang, Shao-Hua Shi, Ya-Jie Li, Liang Zhao, Chun-Wei Shi, Fang-Yu Zhou, Yan-Long Jiang, Jing-Tao Hu, Wei Gu, 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 9 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2017, 제 18권 제 2호 5 159-167 (9 pages)
Goose parvovirus (GPV) continues to be a threat to goose farms and has significant economic effects on the production of geese. Current commercially available vaccines only rarely prevent GPV infection. In our study, Lactobacillus (L.) plantarum NC8 was selected as a vector to express the VP2 gene of GPV, and recombinant L. plantarum pSIP409-VP2/NC8 was successfully constructed. The molecular weight of the expressed recombinant protein was approximately 70 kDa. Mice were immunized with a 2 × 10... -
Learning, memory and exploratory similarities in genetically identical cloned dogs

nuclear genomes. The variance of total incorrect choice number in the Y-maze test among cloned dogs was significantly lower than that of the control dogs. There was also a significant decrease in variance in the level of exploratory activity in the open fields test compared to age-matched control dogs. These results indicate that cloned dogs show similar cognitive and exploratory patterns, suggesting that these behavioral phenotypes are related to the genotypes of the individuals. -
Effects of cetirizine in dogs with chronic atopic dermatitis: a randomized, double blind, placebo-controlled trial
Yun-Hsia Hsiao, Charles Chen, Ton Willemse 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 5 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2016, 제 17권 제 4호 14 549-553 (5 pages)
This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of cetirizine in dogs with atopic dermatitis (AD) while fulfilling Favrot’s diagnostic clinical criteria. Dogs received either 3 mg/kg cetirizine (n = 27), or a placebo (n = 23) orally once daily for 14 days in a randomized, double blind, placebo-controlled study, without concomitant medication. The effects were evaluated using a pruritus visual analog scale at the start (day 0) and at day 14. After 14 days, cetirizine clearly had no effect on... -
Reproductive ability of a cloned male detector dog and behavioral traits of its offspring

In 2007, seven detector dogs were produced by somatic cell nuclear transfer using one nuclear donor dog, then trained and certified as excellent detector dogs, similar to their donor. In 2011, we crossed a cloned male and normal female by natural breeding and produced ten offspring. In this study, we investigated the puppies’ temperaments, which we later compared with those of the cloned parent male. The results show that the cloned male had normal reproductive abilities and produced healthy...
