A Salmonella Typhi ghost induced by the E gene of phage X174 stimulates dendritic cells and efficiently activates the adaptive immune response
Gayeon Won, Seong Kug Eo, Sang-Youel Park, Jin Hur, John Hwa Lee 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 7 Pages

in stimulating the adaptive immune response remains to be investigated. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the immunostimulatory effect of STG on mouse bone marrow-derived dendritic cells (BMDCs) and its activation of the adaptive immune response in vitro. Immature BMDCs were stimulated with STG, which efficiently stimulated maturation events in BMDCs, as indicated by upregulated expressions of CD40, CD80, and major histocompatibility complex class II molecules on CD11+ BMDCs. Immature BMDCs... -
Identification, sequence analysis, and infectivity of H9N2 avian influenza viruses isolated from geese

to those of the H7N9 viruses. An infectivity analysis of the three isolates showed that Gs/JS/SQ119/12 and Gs/JS/YZ527/11 replicated well, with seroconversion, in geese and chickens, the Gs/JS/JD564/12 did not infect well in geese or chickens, and the F/98 virus only infected chickens, with seroconversion. Emergence of these new reassortant H9N2 avian influenza viruses indicates that these viruses can infect both chicken and goose and can produce different types of lesions in each species. -
Analysis of swine leukocyte antigen class I gene profiles and porcine endogenous retrovirus viremia level in a transgenic porcine herd inbred for xenotransplantation research
Daria Matczyń, ska, Daniel Sypniewski, Sabina Gałka, Dagna Sołtysik, Tomasz Loch, Ewa Nowak, Zdzisław Smorą, g, Ilona Bednarek1 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 9 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2018, 제 19권 제 3호 8 384-392 (9 pages)
Molecular characterization of swine leukocyte antigen (SLA) genes is important for elucidating the immune responses between swine-donor and human-recipient in xenotransplantation. Examination of associations between alleles of SLA class I genes, type of pig genetic modification, porcine endogenous retrovirus (PERV) viral titer, and PERV subtypes may shed light on the nature of xenograft acceptance or rejection and the safety of xenotransplantation. No significant difference in PERV gag RNA level... -
Integrated analysis of microRNA and mRNA expressions in peripheral blood leukocytes of Warmblood horses before and after exercise
Hang-Ah Kim, Myung-Chul Kim, Na-Yon Kim, Doug-Young Ryu, Hong-Seok Lee, Yongbaek Kim 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 8 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2018, 제 19권 제 1호 13 99-106 (8 pages)
The expressions of 6 miRNAs, including 4 known and 2 novel miRNAs, were altered by exercise. The predicted target genes of the differentially expressed miRNAs identified by NGS were matched to the exercise-induced mRNAs determined by microarray analysis. Five genes (LOC100050849, LOC100054517, KHDRBS3, LOC100053996, and LOC100062720) from the microarray analysis were matched to the predicted target genes of the 6 miRNAs. The subset of mRNAs and miRNAs affected by exercise in peripheral blood... -
Comparative proteomic analysis of outer membrane protein 43 (omp43)-deficient Bartonella henselae
Jun-Gu Kang, Hee-Woo Lee, Sungjin Ko, Joon-Seok Chae 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 12 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2018, 제 19권 제 1호 9 59-70 (12 pages)
WT and Δomp43, two-dimensional gel electrophoresis-based proteomic analysis was performed. Based on Clusters of Orthologus Groups functional assignments, 12 proteins were associated with metabolism, 7 proteins associated with information storage and processing, and 3 proteins associated with cellular processing and signaling. By semi-quantitative reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction, increases in tldD, efp, ntrX, pdhA, purB, and ATPA mRNA expression and decreases in Rho and yfeA mRNA... -
Stress and pain response after oligofructose induced-lameness in dairy heifers
Hedie A. Bustamante, Alfredo R. Rodr?guez, Daniel E. Herzberg, Marianne P. Werner 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 7 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2015, 제 16권 제 4호 3 405-411 (7 pages)
Lameness is one of the most painful conditions that affects dairy cattle. This study was conducted to evaluate clinical signs and plasma concentration of several pain and stress biomarkers after oligofructose-induced lameness in dairy heifers. Lameness was induced using an oligofructose overload model in 12 non-pregnant heifers. Clinical parameters and blood samples were obtained at 48 and 24 h and at 6, 12, 24, 36 and 48 h after induction of lameness. Clinical parameters included heart rate,... -
Isolation and phylogenetic analysis of hemagglutinin gene of H9N2 influenza viruses from chickens in South China from 2012 to 2013

of H9N2 subtype avian influenza viruses (AIVs) were isolated from dead or diseased chicken flocks in Guangdong province, South China, between 2012 and 2013. Hemagglutinin (HA) genes of these strains were sequenced and analyzed and phylogenic analysis showed that 12 of the 19 isolates belonged to the lineage h9.4.2.5, while the other seven belonged to h9.4.2.6. Specifically, we found that all of the viruses isolated in 2013 belonged to lineage h9.4.2.5. The lineage h9.4.2.5 viruses contained a... -
Agar gel immunodiffusion analysis using baculovirus-expressed recombinant bovine leukemia virus envelope glycoprotein (gp51/gp30T-)
Seong In Lim, Wooseog Jeong, Dong Seob Tark, Dong Kun Yang, Chang Hee Kweon* 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 6 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2009, 제 10권 제 4호 9 331-336 (6 pages)
Bovine leukemia virus (BLV) envelope glycoprotein (gp51/ gp30T-), consisting of BLV gp51 and BLV gp30 that lacked its C-terminal transmembrane domain, was expressed in insect cells under the control of the baculovirus polyhedron promoter. Recombinant BLV gp51/gp30T- secreted from insect cells was determined by immunofluorescence, enzyme- linked immunosorbent and western blot assays using a BLV-specific monoclonal antibody and BLV-positive bovine antibodies. An agar gel immunodiffusion (AGID)... -

towards the posterior of the body. The first row is supported by unmodified hooks. The parasite tegument has a series of alternative folds and a large number of pores. Sensory ganglia are located on the surface of the proboscis and body. Acanthogyrus (Acanthosentis) tilapiae provokes an aggressive host response indicated by hyperplasia of the intestinal goblet cells and focal eosinophil infiltrations. This acanthocephalan parasite shows a highly modified adaptation to its site of host infection. -

under these culture conditions that points to potential regulatory and effector functions of gammadelta T cells. The investigations have also provided the information needed to begin identifying and characterizing antigens recognized by the TCR repertoires of WC1+ and WC1- gammadelta T cells. Finally, the investigations have provided the information needed to begin analysis of the mechanisms by which gammadelta T cells modulate MHC restricted immune responses to pathogens and derived vaccines.
